Kadyn Proctor, nation's No. 1 offensive lineman, flips commitment from Iowa to Alabama

Alabama steals 5-star OL, top prospect in Iowa, from home state Hawkeyes

There will no longer be intrigue looming over where the nation's No. 1 offensive lineman will sign on Early National Signing Day Wednesday morning.

Southeast Polk (Iowa) tackle Kadyn Proctor has flipped his commitment from Iowa to Alabama, he announced Tuesday. The news was first reported by On3's Hayes Fawcett.

Proctor is the No. 5 overall prospect in the country with an imposing 6-foot-6, 330-pound frame.

Questions began circulating about how firm his commitment to Iowa was after several blue chip programs turned up their pursuit in recent weeks.

Iowa's top 2023 prospect committed to the Hawkeyes in June, but Oregon and Alabama crept into the picture during his senior season. Proctor visited Oregon in November and hosted Ducks coaches for an in-home visit last week, then visited Alabama last weekend.

He plans to sign at 8:45 a.m. (Central Time) Wednesday in the Southeast Polk High School's auditorium.

As a senior, Proctor helped Southeast Polk to a 12-1 season and state crown with a convincing 49-14 win over Valley in the Iowa Class 5A championship game. He was a first team all-state selection.
