SBLive Missouri Top 25 boys basketball rankings: Bolivar takes the No. 1 spot

Bolivar is playing Springfield Catholic in the state tournament quarterfinals Saturday.

We have a new team on top of the SBLive Missouri Top 25 rankings as Bolivar ascends to the top after advancing to the Class 5 quarterfinals. There were a lot of changes in the rankings this week after district and sectional play was completed this past weekend. 

1. Bolivar (25-4)

The Liberators won their district with a victory over Parkview and will play Springfield Catholic in the quarterfinals Saturday.

2. Staley (25-4)

The Falcons defeated Liberty in the district final and will take on Blue Springs in the quarterfinals Saturday.

3. Vashon (24-4)

The Wolverines won their district and defeated MICDS in the sectionals to advance to the quarterfinals against Mexico Saturday.

4. Christian Brothers College (23-6)

The Cadets won their district with a win over Eureka and will play SLUH Saturday in the Class 6 quarterfinals.

5. Chaminade (23-6)

The Red Devils defeated Francis Howell in the district finals and will play Ft. Zumwalt South in the Class 6 quarterfinals Saturday.

6. Blair Oaks (26-2)

The Falcons fell in the district final to Father Tolton to end their season.

7. Webster Groves (21-8)

The Statesmen defeated Vianney in the district finals and will play Cape Central in the Class 5 quarterfinals Saturday.

8. Liberty (25-3)

The Blue Jays fell to Staley in the district final to end their season.

9. Cardinal Ritter (19-9)

The Lions defeated Westminster in the district final and will take on St. Dominic in the Class 5 quarterfinals Saturday.

10. Westminster Christian Academy (26-2)

The Wildcats lost in the district final to Cardinal Ritter to complete their season.

11. Thayer (28-1)

The Bobcats defeated Strafford in the Class 3 quarterfinals and will play Lafayette County in the semifinals Thursday.

12. Mexico (28-0)

The Bulldogs defeated St. Charles West in the Class 4 sectionals and will play Vashon in the quarterfinals Saturday.

13. Norwood (29-1)

The Pirates defeated College Heights Christian in the Class 2 quarterfinals and play Bishop LeBlond in the semifinals Friday.

14. South Iron (26-4)

The Panthers defeated Leopold in the Class 1 quarterfinals and will play St. Elizabeth in the semifinals Friday.

15. Father Tolton (20-8)

The Trailblazers defeated Fair Grove in the Class 4 sectionals and will take on Willow Springs in the quarterfinals Saturday.

16. Nixa (26-3)

The Eagles won their district with a victory over Kickapoo and will play Lee’s Summit West in the Class 6 quarterfinals Saturday.

17. Monroe City (22-5)

The Panthers fell to Duchesne in the sectional to complete their season.

18. New Madrid County Central (19-7)

The Eagles defeated Park Hill Central in the Class 4 sectional and will take on Lift for Life in the quarterfinals Saturday.

19. Eugene (25-4)

The Eagles lost to Norwood in the Class 2 sectional to complete their season.

20. MICDS (24-4)

The Rams lost to Vashon in the Class 4 sectionals to complete their season.

21. Stanberry (24-3)

The Bulldogs defeated Green City in the Class 1 quarterfinals and will play Wellsville-Middletown in the semifinals Friday.

22. Fort Zumwalt South (26-2)

The Bulldogs won their district with a win over Troy and will take on Chaminade in the Class 6 quarterfinals Saturday.

23. Blue Springs (24-5)

The Wildcats defeated Hickman in the Class district final and will play Staley in the quarterfinals Saturday.

24. SLUH (18-7)

The Jr. Bills won their district with a victory over Jackson and will play CBC in the Class 6 quarterfinals Saturday.

25. Charleston (27-3)

The Blue Jays defeated Bishop DuBourg in the Class 3 quarterfinals and will play Duchesne in the semifinals Thursday.
