SBLive Missouri Top 25 girls basketball rankings: Top teams chasing state titles

The girls basketball Top 25 as we enter the final weekend of the season.

Incarnate Word remains atop the SBLive Missouri Girls’ Top 25 Power Rankings after winning its 66th consecutive game with a win to advance to the Class 6 semifinals this weekend. There is still a lot of changes in the rankings after the small school final four and the large school quarterfinals this past weekend. 

1. Incarnate Word Academy (27-0)

The Red Knights defeated Troy in the Class 6 quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals and will play St. Joseph’s Academy Thursday.

2. Whitfield (23-3)

The Warriors defeated Warrenton in the Class 5 quarterfinals and will play Webster Groves in the semifinals Friday.

3. West Plains (25-4)

The Zizzers defeated Carl Junction in the Class 5 quarterfinals and will take on Smithville in the semifinals Friday.

4. Kickapoo (27-3)

The Lady Chiefs defeated Truman in the Class 6 quarterfinals and will take on Blue Springs South in the semifinals Thursday. 

5. El Dorado Springs (29-3)

The Bulldogs defeated South Shelby 61-26 to earn the Class 3 state title.

6. Webster Groves (24-5)

The Statesmen defeated Cape Notre Dame in the Class 5 quarterfinals and will play Whitfield in the semifinals Friday.

7. Blue Springs South (25-4)

The Jaguars defeated St. Joe’s Central in the Class 6 quarterfinals and will play Kickapoo in the semifinals Thursday.

8. Strafford (24-6)

The Indians fell to El Dorado Springs in the Class 3 semifinals to end their season.

9. Rock Bridge (26-2)

Season complete.

10. Ellington (25-5)

The Lady Whippets fell to Wellington-Napoleon in the Class 2 finals to end their season.

11. Leeton (24-3)

The Lady Bulldogs fell to South Nodaway in the Class 1 semifinals and finished third on the year.

12. Southern Boone (23-4)

Season completed.

13. John Burroughs (20-4)

The Bombers defeated Hallsville in the Class 4 quarterfinals and will play St. James in the semifinals Friday.

14. Wellington-Napoleon (26-2)

The Tigers won the Class 2 title with a 52-31 win over Ellington.

15. Delta (28-2)

The Lady Cats fell in the Class 1 title game 63-50 to South Nodaway.

16. St. Joseph’s Academy (20-9)

The Angels defeated Jackson in the Class 6 quarterfinals and will play Incarnate Word in the semifinals Thursday.

17. Cape Notre Dame (22-7)

The Bulldogs lost to Webster Groves in the Class 5 quarterfinals to end their season.

18. Nixa (24-5)

Season complete.

19. Benton (24-5)

The Cardinals defeated St. Pius X (KC) in the Class 4 quarterfinals and will play Helias in the semifinals Friday.

20. Smithville (21-8)

The Warriors defeated Raytown South in the Class 5 quarterfinals and will play West Plains in the semifinals Friday.

21. Blue Eye (27-6)

The Lady Bulldogs fell in the Class 2 semifinals to Wellington-Napoleon and won the third-place contest over St. Paul Lutheran (Concordia) to finish their season.

22. Chillicothe (23-5)

Season complete.

23. Helias (23-7)

The Lady Crusaders defeated Ava in the Class 4 quarterfinals and will play Benton in the semifinals Friday.

24. South Nodaway (29-1)

The Longhorns defeated Delta 63-50 in the Class 1 championship game.

25. Miller (23-4)

Season complete.
