By Chris Geinosky

Here’s a look at the Week 9 results for the teams in the SBLive Missouri Power 25. This marks the end of the regular season.

1. Christian Brothers College (8-1) defeated Edwardsville (Ill.) 44-17

The Cadets trailed early for the second straight week but rallied to win their seventh straight game. Cole McKey had a career night, completing 19 of 26 passes for 270 yards and four touchdowns after starter Jason Wiley Jr. suffered a hand injury on the opening drive of the game. Notre Dame commit Jeremiyah Love racked up 197 total yards (100 receiving, 97 rushing) and a touchdown. Standout receiver Jeremiah McClellan caught 11 balls for 103 yards and a score.

2. Liberty North (9-0) defeated Lee’s Summit West 36-0

It took all season, but the vaunted Eagle defense finally recorded its first shutout of the year. Liberty North saved perhaps its best defensive performance of the regular season for the finale, limiting Lee’s Summit West to 86 yards of total offense. The Titans mustered a mere three first downs all night. North surrendered 80 points in nine regular season games, the lowest total among all Class 6 teams in the state.

3. Lee’s Summit North (8-1) defeated Park Hill 40-34 (2OT)

The Broncos needed double overtime to pull out a high-scoring affair against Park Hill and end the regular season with an eight-game winning streak. Lee’s Summit North rushed for 293 yards on 37 carries (7.9 yards per attempt) in the game. Tanner Howes ran for 152 yards and a touchdown while backfield mate Quincey Baker rushed for 137 yards and three scores. Quarterback Elijah Leonard also rushed for a touchdown.

4. St. Mary’s (7-2) defeated Lutheran North 51-33

Senior running back Jamal Roberts rushed 21 times for 144 yards and four touchdowns and also caught a 65-yard touchdown pass. The Mizzou commit has rushed for 1,197 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season. Chase Hendricks hauled in six catches for 153 yards, which was highlighted by a 50-yard touchdown reception.

5. Francis Howell (9-0) defeated No. 20 Rock Bridge 59-21

Not only did the Vikings finish the regular season undefeated for the first time since 2015, they scored at least five touchdowns in every regular-season game this year. Jude James hauled in three touchdown receptions to lead the scoring spree. Taj Gurley opened the scoring with a TD catch of his own, while Kendall Gurley added more fireworks with a 75-yard punt return score.

6. Carthage (8-1) defeated Willard 55-14

For the third year in a row, the Tigers can call themselves Central Ozark Conference champions, although they have to share this title with Nixa. Running back Luke Gall rushed for three touchdowns in the first half to help his team lead 41-0 at the intermission. Cooper Jadwin tossed a pair of touchdowns to Hudson Moore, while Jadason Davis-Maxey scored twice, one rushing and one on a kickoff return.

7. Cardinal Ritter (9-0) defeated St. Louis University High 44-0

What a way to finish up the regular season for the Lions, who recorded their fifth shutout of the year – and fourth in the past five weeks. This one was the most impressive as the smaller Class 3 team blanked Class 6 St. Louis University High. Cardinal Ritter has surrendered only 40 points the entire season, which is believed to be fewest by any team in the state.

8. Kearney (9-0) defeated Belton 33-21

A fourth-quarter comeback enabled the Bulldogs to complete an undefeated regular season for the first time since 2010. Trailing 15-7 midway into the third quarter, Kearney finished strong in the game’s final 18 minutes. Cameron Emmons rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns, while Zach Grace rushed for 39 yards and a pair of scores.

9. Camdenton (8-1) lost to Glendale 37-35 (OT)

One of the biggest upsets of the week spoils the Lakers attempt to complete an undefeated regular season. Camdenton had a chance to end the game in regulation but had a potential game-winning field goal blocked. Glendale scored first in overtime and added the 2-point conversion. Camdenton answered with a TD but was unable to convert the 2-point PAT to extend the contest.

10. Nixa (8-1) defeated Ozark 51-7

The Backyard Brawl Trophy remains in Nixa. The Eagles bounced back from last week’s shocking loss to Republic and earned a shared of the Central Ozark Conference title with Carthage. Ramone Green Jr. rushed for two touchdowns in the first half to spark his team to a 28-7 halftime lead, and Connor Knatcal tossed a pair of touchdowns in the second half to complete the blowout.

16. Valle Catholic (9-0) defeated Kennett 46-16

17. Holt (8-1) defeated Timberland 42-35

Quarterback Owen Merrill had another big night in leading the Indians to an eighth consecutive victory. Merrill’s last touchdown of the night gave his team a 42-28 lead with 3:55 left.

18. MICDS (8-1) defeated Duchesne 44-33

19. De Smet (4-5) lost to East St. Louis (Ill.) 40-10

The Spartans’ rugged schedule ended with a loss to Illinois powerhouse East St. Louis, the No. 1 team in the SBLive Illinois Power 25 rankings. De Smet was never in the game, falling behind 26-0 at halftime. A 2-yard TD run by Elijah Thomas broke up the shutout.

20. Rock Bridge (7-1) lost to No. 5 Francis Howell 59-21

The Bruins trailed only 17-14 in the second quarter, but the game got away once Howell’s high-octane offense got rolling. Cooper Myers ran for two touchdowns for Rock Bridge, which lost the first and last games of the regular season.

21. Seneca (8-1) lost to Nevada 49-14

Trailing 21-14 at halftime, Class 2 Seneca suffered its first loss of the season when it was outscored 28-0 by Class 4 Nevada in the second half. The loss leaves the Indians tied with Lamar at the top of the Big 8 West final standings.

22. Lamar (8-1) defeated Hollister 41-0

The Tigers closed out the regular season with their fourth shutout of the season, but their first since consecutive blankings in the first three weeks of the season. A perennial Class 2 powerhouse, Lamar appears ready for yet another playoff run.

23. Eureka (8-1) defeated Hazelwood Central 39-2

Star running back Kevin Emmanuel rushed for three touchdowns in the first half, and Jace Peterson tossed a 28-yard TD strike to Allen Brown as the Wildcats rolled to a 39-0 halftime lead.

24. Kickapoo (7-2) defeated Bolivar 12-7

Coming into the game, the Chiefs’ starting defense had not given up a touchdown since Week 3, and that defense saved the day in the final game of the regular season, extending the team’s win streak to six straight.

25. Seckman (8-1) defeated Webster Groves 48-6

Quarterback Cole Ruble opened the scoring 19 seconds into the game when he ripped off a 63-yard touchdown run. He added a 71-yard score later in the game, leading Seckman to an eighth consecutive victory, the longest win streak in program history. Ruble, who recently committed to Southeast Missouri State, finished with 225 yards rushing and four touchdowns on just eight carries and also completed all five of his pass attempts for 87 yards.
