SBLive talked to coaches in Montana on identifying the most clutch scorers in Montana. Names are broken down by classification, and listed in alphabetical order:

CLASS AA

Gabe Hatler, Billings West, 6-3, sr.

Has transformed himself from a skinny 5-5 kid into a 6-3 explosive athlete for the Rams.

Ty Huse, Bozeman, 6-3, sr.

Montana Tech signee can really shoot the ball, has a very good basketball IQ and is fundamentally sound.

Brayden Koch, Helena Capital, 6-3, sr.

Knocks down shots in bunches from behind the arc for unbeaten Bruins, has committed to Carroll College.

Ta'Veus Randle, Belgrade, 6-0, jr.

Long-range sharpshooter can go for big numbers on any given night, and just set school record with 38 points.

Payton Sanders, Skyview, 5-11, sr.

Strong and aggressive, can create his own shot and has great body control when penetrating.

Asher Topp, Hellgate, 6-2, jr.

Finally healthy after a torn labrum cost him the entire 2020-21 season, hit five 3-pointers earlier this season in upset of No. 5 Sentinel.

CLASS A

Fischer Brown, Lewistown, 6-3, so.

Has been scoring under pressure since he was 9, when he was one of 12 national age-group (8-9) free throw finalists in the 2015 Elks Hoop Shoot.

Connor Curnow, Dillon, 6-4, sr.

Strong and aggressive inside, has a knack for being in the right position to score or rebound in the lane.

Konnor Gregerson, Laurel, 6-2, sr.

Inside-outside threat can penetrate and score or spot up for the 3-ball.

Cayden Merchant, Billings Central, 6-4, sr.

Only returning starter leads the attack for defending Class A champs.

Dougie Peoples, Butte Central, 6-3, jr.

Rains 3-pointers on opponents for the unbeaten Maroons, including four recently against Class AA Butte.

CLASS B

Gavin Bates, Eureka, 6-1, sr.

Shoots it at high percentage from the field (47 percent) and the line (89) to average well over 20 points a game.

Journey Emerson, Lame Deer, 6-1, sr.

Set state's single-game scoring mark with his 81-point effort against Poplar in early February. Can't stop him.

Damon Gros Ventre, Lodge Grass, 6-5, sr.

Go-to guy for the defending Class B champs makes scoring 20 points look like an uncontested layin.

Zoran LaFrombois, St. Ignatius, 5-7, jr.

Don’t let the size fool you, Class B all-state selection as a sophomore fills it up nightly.

Trevor Mosness, Big Timber, 6-3, jr.

Consistently tops the scoring column for the Sheepherders.

Rhett Reynolds, Shelby, 6-9, sr.

Big man up front getting it done virtually every night for the Coyotes.

CLASS C

Dylan Flatt, Shields Valley, 5-11, sr.

Consistent 20-plus point scorer for winning Rebels.

Quin Gillespie, Bridger, sr.

Scores from anywhere on the court, whether inside, mid-range or from the perimeter.

Rodrigo Takano, Terry, sr.

Among the most consistent threats in the state, he is a lock for 20 points per night.
