Congratulations to Billings West's Isaiah Claunch and Capital's Thomas Carter for being voted SBLive’s Montana High School Athletes of the Week for April 4-10!

Claunch, a senior track and field athlete, launched a state-leading javelin throw of 189 feet, 10 inches – a personal record – at the GHS Triangular.

Carter, a junior track and field athlete, took over the state lead in the 100 and 200 meters, running personal bests in both races – 10.83 seconds and 22.24 seconds – in a dual meet against Hellgate.

Both athletes received 46.15% of the total vote. If this were an election, we would have a run-off. Because it’s high school sports, we get to give out swag and awards to two great athletes!

If you would like to nominate an athlete, please email athleteoftheweek@scorebooklive.com or message us on Twitter or Instagram at @sblivemt.

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for April 4-10:

Jackson Triepke, Hellgate boys track and field: Ran a state-best 4:45.69, also a personal record, in the Mile at Arcadia.

Cade Sorley, Huntley Project boys golf: Shot an 83 at the Colstrip Invitational golf tournament to take medalist honors and lead his team to the overall team title 369-432 over runner-up Broadus.

Odessa Zentz, Helena girls track and field: Enjoyed her Saturday at the Arcadia Invite, taking over the state lead in the 400 and 800 meters in 58.56 seconds and 2:18.11. She also is the state leader in the 200, a mark set a week earlier.

Hailey Coey, Billings West girls track and field: Long-jumped 18-6.5 at the GHS Triangular, a personal best that gave her the lead in the state this week.

Hollis Baker, Billings Senior softball: Had three hits, including a double and a triple, and drove in three runs during an 8-1 victory over Bozeman.

Marleigh Nieto, Billings West softball: Hit three home runs and had five RBIs in a 17-2 thrashing of Gallatin.
