BELLEVUE, Wash. — Garfield wasn't going to coast past O'Dea to a 3A Sea-King District title like it did when the teams met in Metro League regular season play, by 37 points. Owen Moriarty and the Fighting Irish made sure of that.

Instead, a Mason Williams 3 with 1.7 seconds left in regulation and Moriarty's 21 points pushed the top-ranked Bulldogs to overtime, where Garfield prevailed 57-49 on Saturday night at Bellevue College. Sherrell McCullum scored 15 to lead the Bulldogs, who secured the top seed in the 3A state tournament. O'Dea was given the 3-seed.
