Minnesota's Emmett Johnson is the fans' choice as SBLive National Football Player of the Year
The Nebraska signee edged out Mississippi's Brayson Hubbard in a race that went down to the wire.
Academy of Holy Angels (Minnesota) running back Emmett Johnson proved he could pile up yards throughout his high school career.
Over the past week he proved he could pile up votes to become the fans' choice as SBLive National Football Player of the Year.
Johnson amassed 55,178 votes, edging out Ocean Springs (Mississippi) quarterback Brayson Hubbard, who totaled 50,255.
As a senior, Johnson rushed for more than 2,500 yards and scored 42 touchdowns, and as a safety he made 85 total tackles and 13 tackles for loss.
The Nebraska signee was named Mr. Football by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association.
