That quarterback is an 8th-grader? Thompson (Alabama) 14-year-old thriving for high school football powerhouse

Trent Seaborn is becoming a name to know in high school football, and he isn't even in high school yet.

The Thompson Middle School eighth-grader has earned significant varsity playing time this season for the Thompson High School football team, which entered the season ranked No. 11 in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25.

The 5-foot-11 14-year-old played the fourth quarter of Thompson's season-opening loss to now-No. 14 Buford (Georgia), throwing the Warriors' lone touchdown pass in the game.

He had his best game of the season against Chelsea on Sept. 16, going a perfect 5-for-5 with 130 yards and two touchdowns and leading four straight touchdown drives.

At midseason playing as Thompson's No. 2 quarterback, Seaborn had completed 50 of 67 passes for 735 yards and eight touchdown passes with just one interception, plus a TD on the ground.

If that's not enough, he also thrives in band playing the baritone saxophone:

"I've been playing football probably since I was 4, been playing quarterback since I was 6, and ever since then it's been my passion," he says in the video.

And he still has more than four years of high school football left to see where his passion takes him next.

Thompson (6-2) heads to Tuscaloosa County (5-2) on Friday before a huge regular-season finale at home next week against Hoover (7-1).
