Kelso (Washington) high school cancels homecoming football game after report of firearm prompts evacuation
Police evacuated the school Friday afternoon due to a possible threat, and all after-school activities were canceled
A Washington high school canceled its homecoming football game after a shooting scare prompted a response from multiple departments.
Police investigated a report of a gun at Kelso High School around 1:00 p.m. PST on Friday but found no active threat, and no injuries were reported.
Still, it was enough to shake the students, parents, teachers and entire community. As a result, all all-after school activities were canceled for the day, including the football team's homecoming game.
Kelso, which started the season 6-2, was scheduled to host Othello (6-1) Friday night for its homecoming game.
