AJ Swinton is taking his talents from the East Coast to the West Coast, leaving behind one of the nation's top high school basketball programs for another.

Swinton is transferring from Oak Hill Academy (Virginia) to Sierra Canyon (California), the four-star junior announced Friday. The 6-foot-5 wing moved to Oak Hill prior to the 2022-23 season after making a name for himself at DeMatha (Maryland).

Sierra Canyon, No. 16 in the latest SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings, features four-star senior Bronny James, five-star junior Isaiah Elohim and Memphis signee Ashton Hardaway.

Adding Swinton to the mix should provide a considerable boost for the Trailblazers (12-3), who fell to West Linn (Oregon) in the semifinals of the Les Schwab Invitational on Thursday

Sierra Canyon will look to get back on track as it takes on No. 20 Bishop Gorman (Nevada) in the tournament's third place game Friday night.
