Kiyan Anthony, son of Carmelo Anthony, transferring to nationally-ranked Long Island Lutheran (New York)

The son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony revealed he will be transferring from Christ the King to fellow New York powerhouse Long Island Lutheran
Christ the King (N.Y.) sophomore guard Kiyan Anthony, son of NBA great Carmelo Anthony, faces Bronny James and Sierra Canyon on Monday, 20 years after their fathers first played one another on TV in high school.

One of the top high school basketball teams in the country will be receiving a midseason addition in the form of basketball royalty.

Kiyan Anthony, the son of former NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony, announced Sunday he will be making the in-state move from Christ the King (New York) to Long Island Lutheran, the No. 12 team in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 national rankings.

Only a sophomore, Anthony holds college offers from Bryant, George Mason, Memphis and Syracuse, where his father won a NCAA national championship in 2003. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard is a four-star recruit ranked No. 62 overall in the country for the class of 2025, according to 247Sports.

Long Island Lutheran head coach told Greater Long Island news Anthony will begin taking classes at the school this week but will be ineligible to play for the remainder of the season.

The Crusaders (14-2) are currently competing in their first season as a member of the National Interscholastic Basketball Conference, a 10-team league featuring some of the nation's most prestigious and prominent basketball programs like Montverde Academy (Florida), AZ Compass Prep (Arizona), IMG Academy (Fla.) and more.

The Long Island Lutheran girls basketball team has also garnered national attention in recent years as a rising power. The team is currently ranked No. 5 in the SBLive Power 25 girls basketball rankings.
