We've separated boys and girls because of how many great performances there are each week. Now it's your turn to choose a standout among the pack, the best of the best.
Here are the nominees for SBLive's Boys Athlete of the Week for June 12-18. Voting closes on Sunday, June 25 at 11:59 (Pacific Time) and winners are announced on Mondays.

Boys national athlete of the week nominees
Max Arlich, East Ridge (Minnesota)
Arlich, a junior Texas A&M commit, fired a two-hit shutout as East Ridge captured the Class 4A state title with a 1-0 victory over Rosemount. The left-hander struck out seven and walked two.
Issam Asinga, Montverde Academy (Florida)
Asinga set a new meet record in the 100 at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor with a time of 10.05. The senior recently clocked a 10.02 at the Star Athletics Sprint Series and has four wind-aided sub-10 times this season, including a national-record all-conditions time of 9.83.
Simeon Birnbaum, Stevens (South Dakota)
Birnbaum ran the second-fastest 1,500 time by a high schooler in U.S. history at the Nike Outdoor Nationals, finishing in 3:37.93. Earlier in the week, the Oregon signee won the two-mile race at the Brooks PR Invitational with a nation-leading time of 8:34.10.
Jacob Cookinham, Bishop Stang (Massachusetts)
Cookinham won the shot put competition at the Adidas Outdoor Nationals with a top throw of 66-11.5. The Kansas signee’s mark ranks third in the country this season.
Jack Counsell, Whitefish Bay (Wisconsin)
Counsell, a Michigan signee, had three hits as Whitefish Bay took down Menomonee Falls, 7-5, in eight innings in a Division I quarterfinal. Whitefish Bay went on to capture the state title. Counsell is the son of Milwaukee Brewers manager and former MLB infielder Craig Counsell.
Carter Crum, Central Springs (Iowa)
Crum fired a no-hitter with one walk and four strikeouts in a 4-0 victory over North Butler.
Nathan Cumberbatch, Shorewood (Wisconsin)
Cumberbatch set a new Wisconsin state record in the 800 at the Brooks PR Invitational with a winning time of 1:48.20, the fastest mark in the nation this spring.
Connor Hamrick, Shaler Area (Pennsylvania)
Hamrick went 4 for 5 with four RBIs, including a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth, as Shaler Area captured the Class 5A state championship with a 9-8 win over Strath Haven.
Andre Korbmacher, Squalicum (Washington)
Korbmacher, a Florida State signee, took gold in the 110 hurdles at the Brooks PR Invitational with a time of 13.40. The senior’s time ranks fifth in the country this season.
Nathan Long, Lakeville North (Minnesota)
Scored back-to-back goals in overtime in the state semifinals and the game-winning goal in overtime of the final to lift Lakeville North to its first state lacrosse title.
Nathaniel Rayan, Scotch Plains-Fanwood (New Jersey)
Rayan set a new PR in the 110 hurdles at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions with a time of 13.42. The Clemson signee’s mark ranks sixth nationally this spring.
Bryce Ruland, Waterford (Wisconsin)
Ruland out-dueled fellow Wisconsinite Ben Smith (Hortonville) to win the shot put competition at the Nike Outdoor Nationals. Ruland placed first with a top throw of 213-9 while Smith took second at 210-4.5. The two juniors have the top marks in the country this year.
Jonathan Simms, Allen (Texas)
Simms, a sophomore, became the 14th Texan high schooler to break the 46-second barrier in the 400 at the Brooks PR Invitational, placing second to national 400 leader Tavon Underwood with a time of 45.90.
Tavon Underwood, Longmont (Colorado)
Underwood placed first in the 400 at the Brooks PR Invitational with a time of 45.78. The senior owns the nation’s best time this season at 45.36.
