Elkhorn South softball’s Kennadi Borngrebe voted SBLive Nebraska high school athlete of the week (Sept. 25-Oct. 2)

Elkhorn South softball player Kennadi Borngrebe totaled 26,504 votes to earn SBLive Nebraska Athlete of the Week honors for Sept. 25-Oct. 2. The total was good for 49.91% of the vote. Bennington volleyball player Olivia Mauch was second with 33.02%.
Back-to-back losses and then a forfeit meant Elkhorn South was staring at a potentially frustrating finish to the season when the Storm took the field Sept. 29 against Millard North.
Needing a spark, Elkhorn South turned to Borngrebe, who delivered both in the circle and at the plate. Borngrebe scattered seven hits, struck out six and drove in four runs that included a three-run home run. Her efforts led to a 7-5 victory.
