NAMPA - Taryn Soumas scored 23 points and Brooke Jessen added 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists to lead Timberlake to a 65-49 win over Sugar Salem in the Idaho 3A girls basketball state championship game on Saturday at the Ford Idaho Center.

It was the second consecutive state title for Timberlake, who led from start to finish. The Tigers jumped out to a 20-9 lead after the first quarter, extended it to 37-17 at halftime and never looked back. They shot the lights out, finishing 55.6% from the field and 46.2% from the 3-point line.

Mardee Fillmore led Sugar Salem with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Meg Fillmore added 9 points and 4 assists.
