With the 2021 California high school volleyball season in full swing, here’s a look at 20 girls volleyball players to watch in the San Diego Section.

The list is in alphabetical order.

Ensley Alden – Senior – San Marcos

Alden totaled 640 kills during her first two seasons for the Knights and now has led them to a 14-2 start during her senior campaign. She’s committed to play beach volleyball at UCLA.

Julia Blyashov – Junior – Cathedral Catholic

Blyashov was one of the best freshmen in the country two seasons ago and has picked right back up as a junior, leading the Dons with 42 kills through their first seven games.

Dana Branavets – Senior – Del Norte

The senior captain has led the Nighthawks to three straight wins, vaulting them into San Diego’s top 10 rankings. She’s committed to UC Riverside.

Brooklyn Burns – Senior – Torrey Pines

Burns helped the Falcons capture the California Challenge Championship in August and was named tournament MVP in the process. She’s committed to Cal Poly.

Brynne Faltinski – Senior – Bishop’s

The Knights’ captain, who’s committed to Harvard, has helped her team jump out to a 7-2 start on the season.

Hannah Flannery – Senior – Torrey Pines

Flannery is one of five returners from the Falcons’ Open Division state championship team in 2019. She’s committed to Brown.

Kailyn Jager – Senior – La Costa Canyon

Jager has 105 kills for the Mavericks, who have played six strong out of section opponents during their first 11 matches.

Delaney Karl – Senior – Torrey Pines

Karl had 558 kills during her first two seasons at Sage Creek before transferring to Torrey Pines. She’s committed to play beach volleyball at USC.

Sydney Miller – Senior – Rancho Bernardo

Miller is coming off a 17-kill performance in a five-set win over Santa Fe Christian. She’s committed to play beach volleyball at Hawaii.

Chloe Narancich – Senior – San Marcos

Naranchich has helped push the Knights into the top spot in the San Diego Section. She’s committed to Utah.

MacKenzie Parsons – Sophomore – Poway

Parsons has 57 kills in only five games this season including 21 in a four-set win over Mt. Carmel.

Ava Poinsett – Freshman – Francis Parker

Poinsett has started her high school career on fire with 49 kills in five matches for the Lancers who have yet to drop a set.

Anna Pringle – Senior – Cathedral Catholic

Pringle has 36 digs in the three matches she’s played this season including a recent sweep against La Costa Canyon. She’s committed to Stanford.

Alexa Radovanovic – Senior – El Camino

Radovanovic leads the San Diego Section in kills while helping the Wildcats to a 9-4 record.

Eva Rohrbach – Junior – La Costa Canyon

Rohrbach has been a consistent force this season for the Mavericks while playing one of San Diego’s toughest schedules.

Cameron Swanson – Senior – Mission Hills

Swanson leads the section in hitting percentage and has double digit kills in each of her last four matches.

Avry Tatum – Senior – La Costa Canyon

Tatum had 420 kills during her first two seasons for the Mavericks and has 69 so far in eight matches this season. She’s committed to Cincinnati.

Auburn Tomkinson – Junior – Carlsbad

The 6-foot-4 left-hander had 63 kills two years ago as a freshman. She’s committed to Texas.

Faith Tyson – Senior – Cathedral Catholic

Tyson has 68 assists in three games for the Dons this season as they make their run towards the open division playoffs. She’s committed to Villanova.

Keelan Williams – Senior – Rancho Bernardo

Williams has posted 20 kills or more in a game twice this season while leading the Broncos to a 7-1 record. She’s committed to UC Irvine.
