THIS WEEK’S SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:
Natalia Hagopian, Laguna Beach girls volleyball: Hagopian totaled 64 assists, 12 kills, 11 digs and 6 aces in wins over Flintridge Sacred Heart and Great Oak.
Tehya Chadwick, Chino Hills girls volleyball: Chadwick totaled 26 kills, 6 digs and 4 blocks in wins over Gabrielino and Laguna Hills.
Sergio Cervantes, Citrus Valley WR: Cervantes had a rushing touchdown, receiving touchdown, and returned a punt for touchdown in Thursday's shutout over Redlands.
Larry Chandler, Carter RB: Chandler had 160 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns against San Gorgonio on Thursday.
Hector Ceballos, Franklin WR: Ceballos had 16 catches for 201 yards and two touchdowns against Lincoln on Friday.
Trey Kukuk, Capistrano Valley QB: Kuku threw for 615 passing yards and six touchdowns in Friday's shootout victory over Trabuco Hills.
Tobey Schmidt, Tustin QB: Schmidt had 507 passing yards and six touchdowns in Friday's 51-31 win against Valencia.
Dominick Flores, Tustin WR: Flores was on the receiving end of nine passes from Schmidt, finishing with 238 yards and three touchdowns.
Amir Bastine, Palmdale DB: Bastine had two interception, returning one for a touchdown in Friday's win over Lancaster.
Johnny Limon, Eastlake QB: Limon passed for 260 yards and five touchdowns in Friday's win over Bonita Vista.
Makei Thompson, Mira Mesa RB/DB: Thompson had 217 yards, three touchdowns, and a sack in Friday's upset win at Scripps Ranch.
Zach Marshall, Santa Fe Christian TE/LB: Marshall caught four passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns and also returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown.
Samuel Cooper IV, University City QB: Cooper passed for 207 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown against Mission Bay.
Jase Nix, San Marcos WR: Nix, a freshman, caught eight passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns against Torrey Pines on Friday.
Paulo Burak, Carlsbad RB: Burak ran 19 times for 225 yards and a touchdown against La Costa Canyon.
Christian Washington, Helix RB: Washington rushed for 203 yards and three touchdowns in Friday's win over Grossmont.
Chris White, Francis Parker ATH: White had 302 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in Friday's win over Army-Navy.
Bryant Carey, Downey WR: Carey caught four passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns against Lynwood.
Nathan Kornely, Villa Park QB: Kornely passed for 325 yards and three touchdowns and added 58 yards and a touchdown on the ground against Foothill.
Lachlan Van Rosmalen, San Clemente QB: Van Rosmalen passed for 172 yards and a touchdown and also added four touchdowns and 94 yards on the ground in San Clemente's win over Tesoro.
Eddie Allain, Norte Vista RB: Allain had 235 total yards and three touchdowns against Hillcrest on Friday.
Evan Maduris, Grace Brethren TE: Maduris reeled in five passes for 141 yards and three touchdowns against Leadership Military Academy on Friday.
Deville Dickerson, Lompc ATH: Dickerson caught three touchdown passes, rushed for a touchdown and returned a kickoff for a touchdown in the Braves' win over Oxnard.
Jake East, Agoura WR/DB: East caught seven passes for 142 yards and a touchdown and also had 19 tackles in Friday's loss to Thousand Oaks.
Kobe Boykin, Orange ATH: Boykin showed off his ability on Friday, finishing with 245 total yards and five touchdowns against Saddleback.
Mikey Gorbea, Diamond Bar RB: Gorbea rushed for 264 yards and four touchdowns against Nogales on Friday.
Lukas Atlas, Indian Springs QB: Atlas passed for 231 yards and five touchdowns against Rubidoux on Friday.
Raleek Brown, Mater Dei RB: Brown rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown in No. 1 Mater Dei’s highly entertaining 46-37 win over No. 10 Servite, in what was arguably the best high school football game of the fall 2021 season.
Tetairoa McMillan, Servite WR: McMillan had 15 catches for 163 yards and two touchdowns in Servite's 46-37 loss to Mater De.
Savi Yokley, El Capitan QB: Had 206 passing yards and 2 TDs with 112 rushing yards and a rushing TD for El Capitan.
Donovan Harvey, Elsinore RB: Had 9 carries for 246 yards and 4 TDs as well as a 60 yard kickoff return for a TD.
