THIS WEEK’S ALABAMA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES:

Tychius Caves, Mobile Christian

Caves rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown and returned a kick 83 yards for a TD in a loss to Jackson.

Jeremiah Cobb, Montgomery Catholic

Cobb rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass in Montgomery Catholic’s 52-7 win over Trinity.

Ethan Crawford, Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa

Crawford passed for 165 yards and rushed for three touchdowns to lead Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa to a 48-26 win over Paul W. Bryant.

T.J. Dudley, Montgomery Catholic

Dudley had 12 tackles, three tackles for loss and returned an interception for a touchdown in Montgomery Catholic’s win over Trinity.

Morrell Edwards, Brantley

Edwards caught a 55-yard touchdown pass and returned a punt 70 yards for a TD in Brantley’s 46-6 win over Red Level.

Ty Flowers, American Christian

Flowers carried the ball seven times for 123 yards and two touchdowns in ACA’s 62-28 win over Dallas County.

Luke Freer, Fairhope

Freer booted a 59-yard field goal, a 38-yard field goal and three extra points in Fairhope’s 27-17 win over Baker. He also had punts of 54 and 51 yards.

Ron Johnson, Clarke County

Johnson carried the ball 17 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns and scored another touchdown on a pick-six in Clarke County’s 20-14 win over Leroy.

Brayden Kyle, Decatur Heritage

Kyle racked up 244 yards of offense and four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing) to lead Decatur Heritage to a 48-0 win over Cherokee.

Caleb Mahan, Florence

Mahan rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two touchdowns to lead Florence to a 56-14 win over Huntsville.

Braylon McReynolds, McGill-Toolen

McReynolds rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns and racked up 82 yards receiving and another TD in McGill-Toolen’s 55-12 win over Blount.

Caleb Nix, Central-Phenix City

Nix threw for 306 yards and five touchdowns to lead Central-Phenix City to a 48-12 win over Dothan.

Ed Osley, Clay-Chalkville

Osley rushed 31 times for 185 yards and five touchdowns to lead Clay-Chalkville to a 42-23 win over Pinson Valley.

Ryan Peppins, Thompson

Peppins caught five passes for 227 yards, all for touchdowns, with the final score coming early in the third quarter, in a 48-0 win over Oak Mountain.

Marquavious Pullom, Dallas County

Pullom rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns in a loss to American Christian.

Ja’khael Rowser, Hueytown

Rowser rushed 15 times for 207 yards and two touchdowns in Hueytown’s 62-25 win over McAdory.

Tyler Smith, Cleveland

Smith rushed for 178 yards and four touchdowns to lead Cleveland to a 49-28 win over Westbrook Christian.

Will Stokes, Madison Academy

Stokes rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown in Madison Academy’s 37-7 win over New Hope.

Walter Taylor III, Jackson

Taylor had 193 yards and three touchdowns through the air and 81 yards and two TDs on the ground to lead Jackson to a 54-26 win over Mobile Christian.

Cash Turner, Orange Beach

Turner rushed for 93 yards and four touchdowns and threw for 87 yards and another TD to lead Orange Beach to a 49-22 win over J.U. Blacksher.

Earl Woods, Hueytown

Woods threw for 236 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 97 yards and two more TDs in Hueytown’s win over McAdory.

Lashon Young, Sweet Water

Young caught three passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns in Sweet Water’s 40-6 win over Millry.

Joseph Anderson, Montevallo

Anderson rushed for 254 yards on 36 carries against undefeated Maplesville. Anderson has 2138 total yards on the season (10 games).
