Congratulations toWeiserquarterback Brett Spencer for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athlete of the Week for Nov. 15-21!

The senior chalked up 226 yards of total offense and three touchdowns, while picking off two passes and making the game-winning tackles at the 1-inch line on a 2-point conversion to lead the Wolverines to their first state championship since 1997 in a 34-33 double overtime win over Sugar-Salem.

Spencer ran away with this week’s honor, receiving 83.73% of the total vote.

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for the week of Nov. 15-21:

Tiger Adolpho, Rigby QB: A year after being benched in the title game, Adolpho returned to throw for almost 200 yards and rack up four total touchdowns to lead the Trojans to their second state championship in the last three years in a 27-12 win over Highland.

Payton Beck, Oakley QB: Went 20-of-23 for 261 yards and four touchdowns in addition to another 130 yards and a score on the ground to lead the Hornets to back-to-back state titles in a 42-14 win over Raft River in the 1A D1 final.

Zheik Falevai, Rigby RB: Rushed for 100 yards on just 12 carries in a 27-12 win over Highland in the 5A state title game.

Taylor Freeman, Rigby WR: Hauled in a 23-yard touchdown catch and made several tackles, including a jaw-dropping hit late in the game all with a broken arm to preserve a 27-12 win over Highland in the 5A state title game.

Carson Harris, Sugar-Salem RB: Piled up 160 yards and a pair of touchdowns before falling inches short on a 2-point conversion that would have delivered his team a four-peat in a 34-33 double overtime loss to Weiser.

Sawyer Hewett, Kendrick RB: Ninth grader had quite the debut with 101 yards on 15 carries and two catches for 61 yards and a pair of scores to help the Tigers end a two-decade title drought in a 30-24 win over Carey in the championship game.

Ty Koepp, Kendrick QB: Put up nearly 200 yards of offense himself and four total touchdowns, as the Tigers claimed their first championship in 20 years in a 30-24 win over Carey in the 1A DII final.

Coleman Lords, Rigby WR: Tallied five receptions for 100 yards and a TD in a 27-12 win over Highland in the 5A state championship game.

Kenyon Sadiq, Skyline WR: Grabbed seven catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns as the Grizzlies won back-to-back 4A state championship in a 20-6 win over Sandpoint in the title game.

Bryler Shurtliff, West Side WR: Had two catches, but they were for 104 yards, including an 89-yard touchdown that put the game on ice, while also recovering two fumbles as the Pirates three-peated in a 33-13 win over Firth in the 2A title game.

Conner Simpson, Carey RB: Went off for 173 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries, but it wasn’t quite enough as the Panthers fell 30-24 to Kendrick in the 1A DII final.

Maddox Stevens, Weiser LB: Blocked an extra point with 1:43 remaining to keep the game tied at 20-20 and force overtime, as the Wolverines ended almost a quarter of a century title drought in a 34-33 double-overtime win over Sugar-Salem in the 3A final.

Ryder Thompson, Rigby DB: Came down with two interceptions to help orchestrate a defensive effort that held Highland to just 83 yards on the ground in a 27-12 win over Highland in the 5A state championship game.
