Here are the candidates for the WaFd BankArizona High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 7-13 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Sabih Almasri, Sophomore, Central - On Monday, Almasri started the week off by shooting 75-percent from the field to post 36 points alongside one block, one rebound and one steal in the 89-52 victory over Sierra Linda. 

Iyon Brown, Junior, North - Monday, Brown shot 75-percent from the field to post 23 points, five rebounds, four assists, a steal and a deflection in North’s 80-42 victory over Alhambra. 

Andrew Camacho, Junior, Peoria - The Panthers are making a ton of noise in the 4A Division, and Camacho is a big reason. Posting 35 points on Monday while shooting 69-percent from the field in the 85-79 victory over Cactus, Camacho also had seven assists, five rebounds, three steals and two deflections to round out the regular season. 

Nate Calmese, Senior, Mesquite - Bringing his final regular season to a close, Calmese had 34 points, five assists, four steals and a rebound in Mesquite’s 73-57 victory over ALA-Queen Creek on Monday. 

Kenny Chamberlain, Senior, Shadow Mountain - In the final game of his high school career on Monday, Chamberlain helped the Matadors pick up a 66-57 win over Tempe with 23 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. 

Talbot Cummard, Senior, Mesa -Going out with noise, Cummard posted a career-high 32 points on Tuesday in the final regular-season game of his career along with five rebounds, two assists and a block to help Mesa edge Mountain View 66-63 in a packed gym full of energy. 

Oakland Fort, Senior, Sunnyslope - As the Vikings make a push to return to the state championships this year, Fort closed out the final game of his regular-season high school career with 18 points on 88-percent shooting from the field, two steals, two assists and a rebound in the 63-32 victory over Shadow Ridge. 

Brady Henige, Sophomore, Cactus - Leading Monday’s game in scoring against Peoria, Henige posted 40 points while shooting 79-percent from the field alongside 24 rebounds for a double-double. Rounding things out, Henige had four assists, three blocks and two steals. 

Raymond Johnson, Junior, Central - Johnson was everywhere on Monday in Central’s 89-52 victory over Sierra Linda, doing a dash of everything for the Bobcats. Not only did he post a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds, he also had three steals, two assists and a block. 

Stetson Krenz, Senior, Canyon del Oro - Shooting 80-percent from the field on Monday night, the senior went out with a bang in the final regular-season game against Rio Rico. Helping the Dorados pick up a 70-60 win, Krenz had 21 points, seven rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block. 

Bryce Quinet, Freshman, Notre Dame Prep - Helping to hammer home the win in the final game of the regular season on Monday, Quinet led the game in scoring with 25 points along with five rebounds and five assists to help defeat Desert Edge 72-61.

Elijah Saunders, Senior, Sunnyslope - Leading Monday’s game in scoring with 20 points, Saunders helped Sunnyslope pick up a 63-32 victory over Shadow Ridge in the final regular-season game of his career. He also had nine rebounds, five assists and two steals to help seal the deal. 

Nigel Anderson, Sophomore, Dysart - Helping Dysart advance to the 4A playoffs with a 57-47 victory over Saguaro on Thursday, Anderson was the best shooter on the floor for the Demons with 14 points on 60-percent shooting from the field. Additionally, he had eight rebounds, four assists, four blocks and a steal to help officially land Dysart the No. 12 seed.

Max Fritsch, Senior, Flagstaff - Leading Flagstaff on the floor, Fritsch posted 26 points, eight rebounds, four deflections and three assists in the Eagles’ 80-71 victory over Buckeye on Thursday to advance as the No. 13 seed in the 4A playoffs. 

Yarell Greer, Junior, Higley - Posting 22 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists, Greer helped Higley cruise to a 71-47 victory over Carl Hayden to snag the No. 9 seed in the 5A playoffs. 

Marshall Kerley, Junior, Thunderbird - While Thunderbird’s season came to a close on Thursday night in the 80-70 loss to Prescott, Kerley went out with a bang by posting 42 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a steal.

Kevin Patton Jr., Junior, Maricopa - Shooting 65-percent from the field on Friday, Patton Jr. posted 27 points, seven rebounds, five blocks, four assists, three deflections and three steals to help the Rams defeat the Desert Vista Thunder and earn the No. 11 seed in the 6A playoffs. 

Jason Parent, Senior, Prescott - Dropping 37 points, seven steals, six deflections, six rebounds and three assists, Parent helped lead Prescott to an 80-70 upset of the Thunderbird Titans to clinch the No. 11 seed in the 4A playoffs.

Espn Polanski, Junior, Boulder Creek - If there’s ever a time to shine, it’s the playoffs, and that’s exactly what Polanski did for the Boulder Creek Jaguars on Friday. Helping to defeat Dobson 79-50 and advance as the No. 12 seed, Polanski posted a career-high 31 points behind 71-percent shooting from the field, along with two rebounds and an assist.
