Here are the candidates for SBLive’s North Carolina High School Athlete of the Week for Feb. 13-18 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Kendre Harrison, Reidsville, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-8 freshman scored 34 points and grabbed 22 rebounds, leading the undefeated Rams to a 70-59 win over High Point Andrews in the Mid-State Conference tournament championship game. The two-sport sensation already has 13 football scholarship offers for football, including Alabama, Tennessee and North Carolina State. He is averaging 22.1 points, 14.3 rebounds and 4.1 blocks.

Zamareya Jones, North Pitt, Girls Basketball

A 5-foot-8 junior guard, Jones went off for 55 points in the Panthers’ 72-60 win over SouthWest Edgecombe in the EPC tournament championship. In a 68-37 semifinal win over West Craven, Jones had 17 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals.

Aden Taylor, Princeton, Boys Basketball

The 6-foot-3 senior guard/forward turned in an incredible performance as the Tigers beat North Johnston 72-65 in a conference tournament semifinal. Taylor scored a school single-game record 46 points to go along with 9 rebounds. He was 12-of-15, including 5-of-5 on 3-pointers, and made 17-of-19 free throws.

Tyson Thompson, St. Pauls, Boys Basketball

A 14-year-old freshman, Thompson led his team with 13 points as the Bulldogs upset East Bladen 41-38 in overtime in the Southeastern Athletic Conference championship game.

Zaire Jones, Oak Grove, Girls Basketball

The 5-foot-9 senior led the way with 19 points as the Grizzlies routed North Davidson 59-29 to win the Mid-Piedmont Conference tournament championship. Jones also scored 18 points in a 74-33 win over Montgomery Central in the tournament semifinals.

Trey Maxwell, North Mecklenburg, Boys Basketball

Maxwell scored 24 points, leading his team to a 65-59 over rival Chambers in the Queen City Athletic Conference tournament championship game. The 6-foot-3 junior is the son of former NBA star Vernon Maxwell.

Ethan Randall, Charlotte Latin, Wrestling

Randall won at 122 pounds via a 10-0 decision as the Chargers won the NCISAA state championship by a wide margin.

Cassidy Geddes, Newton-Conover, Girls Basketball

The senior point guard poured in 34 points as the Red Devils beat East Burke 58-45 in the

Catawba Valley Conference tournament championship game. The Red Devils ended East Burke’s 21-game winning streak.

Caiden Brewer, East Henderson, Boys Basketball

Brewer scored 18 points, propelling the Eagles to a 55-31 drubbing of North Henderson in the Mountain 7 Conference championship game. It was the first conference tournament championship in East Henderson’s history. Brewer was named tournament MVP.

Lexi Powell, Rosman, Girls Basketball

Powell connected for a school record-tying 46 points as the Tigers routed Madison 88-17 in a conference tournament quarterfinal. The 5-foot-8 sophomore made 10 3-pointers. She tied the points record set by her coach, Ashton Williams.

Jeremiah Price, Surry Central, Wrestling

Price became just the 12th wrestler in North Carolina history to win four consecutive state championships when he pinned Dennis Walters of Hendersonville, in 3:14, to win the Class 2A 152 pound title.
