Now that the spring sports season is behind us with champions being crowned last weekend in baseball, softball and girls soccer, it's time to recognize outstanding achievements for several teams that rose to the highest levels.

Here's a look at the accomplishments of 10 teams that stood out this spring.

T.C. Roberson baseball

Roberson won its fourth NCHSAA baseball championship and first since 2017 with a 2-1 series win against Wake Forest in the 4-A state championship. The Rams finished the season 26-8.

West Henderson baseball

The Falcons swept their way to the NCHSAA 2-A state title by defeating J.H. Rose and winning their first state championship since 1992, finishing 27-5 this season.

Burns baseball

Burns won the first baseball state championship in school history with a 2-0 sweep against South Granville for the NCHSAA 2-A state championship. The Bulldogs finished the season 28-4.

Uwharrie Charter baseball

Uwharrie Charter won its second NCHSAA 1-A baseball championship with a two-game sweep of North Moore to cap a 22-10 season.

Cardinal Gibbons lacrosse

Gibbons won its sixth lacrosse state championship in nine seasons with a thrilling 12-10 win against Charlotte Catholic to finish 21-5.

Lake Norman Charter lacrosse

Lake Norman Charter won its second straight NCHSAA 3A/2A/1A lacrosse state championship with a 19-8 win against Northwood. Lake Norman Charter finished the season 17-5.

Weddington track and field

The Warriors won their fourth overall NCHSAA track and field state title and their first in the 4-A classification to go along with their previous three from the 3-A ranks.

Weddington finished the state meet with 44 points to nip Mallard Creek (42) and Clayton (41).

Franklin track and field

Franklin came away with the NCHSAA 3-A state title despite not winning any individual events and finishing with 59.5 points to edge Dudley (54) and Croatan (51).

Union Academy track and field

Union Academy got a strong showing from Evan Pardue, who won the 200 and 400 and finished third in the 100 to finish with 63.5 points and nip Swain County (60) for the NCHSAA 1-A state championship.

T.W. Andrews track and field

The Red Raiders won their first NCHSAA track and field state title since 2001 and their ninth overall by edging 65-63 Owen for the 2-A title.

Correy McManus won the 100 and teammate Ja’Neil Harris finished second with a 10.63. Harris won the 200 and teamed with McManus Jeremiah King and Ja’len Bennett to win the 4x100 relay.
