Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Eastern North Carolina high school football defensive player of the week for Oct. 23 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote in our poll. You may vote as many times as you like. Voting will conclude on Saturday, October 28 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week's poll. HERE ARE THIS WEEK'S NOMINEES

Sawyer Lowe, Cleveland: Lowe finished with 11 tackles, three tackles for loss and forced a fumble in a 48-7 win against Garner.

Zavion Griffin-Haynes, Rolesville: Griffin-Haynes recorded eight tackles, two tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks in a 75-27 win over Wake Forest.

Quinton Cypher, Millbrook: Cypher, a freshman, had 12 tackles, a half-sack and two fumble recoveries in a 52-14 win over Knightdale.

Roderick B-loftin, Hunt: B-loftin had nine tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks in a 35-0 win over West Johnston.

Ethan Wilson, North Pitt: Wilson recorded 19 tackles in North Pitt's recent 42-0 win over Washington. Wilson, a sophomore, leads the team in tackles with 100.
