Emma Gilkerson and Danielle Wright of Strasburg voted top play in OHSAA softball state tournament
The duo combined to turn a double play in the Division IV state championship game to help Strasburg to a 3-2 victory.
Congratulations to Strasburg softball’s Emma Gilkerson and Danielle Wright for being voted as the top play from the OHSAA state softball tournament.
With Strasburg leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth inning of the Division IV championship game, Lincolnview’s Andi Webb led off with a single. Then Zadria King hit a ball that looked like it might fall in short left but Gilkerson made the catch and then fired to first base to Wright to get Webb and complete the double play. Strasburg won the game 3-2.
The duo received 40.03% of the over 40,000 votes cast.
