CINCINNATI, Ohio – Archbishop Moeller scored three straight touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull away from Detroit King (Michigan) for a 30-14 win Friday night.

After King quarterback Dante King helped cut a Moeller lead to 10-7 with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Jameel Croft, Jr. just past the midway point of the third quarter, the Crusaders took over in the fourth quarter, scoring three touchdowns in less than six minutes to take control of the game.

Quarterback Luke Dunn started the fourth quarter scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run. That was followed by a 40-yard touchdown for junior running back Jordan Marshall to make it 23-7.

Any chance at a King comeback was thwarted when Moeller’s defense forced a turnover. With King at its own 23-yard-line, Mitch McNulty got to Moore and sacked him while also forcing a fumble that was recovered by Nathan Schmidt at the King 14.

Two plays later, an 8-yard touchdown run by Alex Weeder gave Moeller a 30-7 with 3:19 left in the game.

King added a final score on a Tayshawn Henr 12-yard touchdown run with under two minutes left.

Moeller (9-1) got out to an early lead, as Drew Mitchell hit a 35-yard field goal to cap off the first drove of the game for the Crusaders. Marshall then found the endzone from six yards out in the final minute of the second quarter to give the Crusaders a 10-0 lead at the half.

Marshall led the Crusaders offense with 14 carries for 131 yards and two scores.

Moeller has clinched the top seed in Division I, Region 4 and will begin its playoff run with two home games.
