St. Edward defeats Achbishop Hoban, Lakota West remains unbeaten: How the SBLive Ohio Top 25 fared in Week 10

St. Edward defeats Archbishop Hoban, while Lakota West finishes off perfect regular season

In the biggest game of the weekend featuring teams in the Top 25, No. 3 St. Edward upended No. 2 Archbishop Hoban 41-20.

Also in the Top 5, No. 1 Lakota West and No. 4 Archbishop Moeller picked up wins, while No. 5 Princeton lost. 

Newcomers No. 24 St. Ignatius and No. 25 Gahanna Lincoln also won Friday night.

There is one team int he Top 25 in action on Saturday, as No. 6 Massillon hosts Canton McKinley.

How the SBLive Ohio Top 25 fared:

1. Lakota West, West Chester (10-0) Last week: 1

The Firebirds finished off an undefeated regular season and clinched the GMC title with a 31-14 win over Colerain.

2. Archbishop Hoban, Akron (9-1) Last Week: 3

The Knights suffered their first loss of the season against No. 3 St. Edward, 41-20

3. St. Edward, Lakewood (9-1) Last Week: 6

The Eagles defeated No. 2 Archbishop Hoban 41-20

4. Archbishop Moeller, Cincinnati (9-1) Last Week: 2

The Crusaders bounced back from a 6-0 loss to St. Edward with a 30-14 win over Detroit King (Michigan).

5. Princeton, Cincinnati (8-2) Last Week: 4

The Vikings were upset by Mason 10-7. 

6. Massillon (7-1) Last Week: 5

The Tigers host Canton McKinley in the grandest rivalry in Ohio high school football on Saturday afternoon.

7. Toledo Central Catholic (9-1) Last Week: 7

The Fighting Irish finished the regular season with a 48-7 win over Toledo St. Francis.

8. Avon (9-1) Last Week: 8

Avon didn't have any issues in Week 10, defeating Amherst 41-0.

9. Medina (9-1) Last Week: 9

The Bees just keep scoring. This week, Medina beat Solon 48-7.

10. Springfield (8-1) Last Week: 10

The Wildcats are rolling again, defeating Northmont 55-21 to end the regular season.

11. Riverside, Painesville (9-1) Last Week: 11

The Beavers finished off regular season play with a 44-27 victory over Willoughby South.

12. Highland, Medina (10-0) Last Week: 12

Highland's defense stays on point, as the Hornets defeat Copley 63-0.

13. Elder, Cincinnati (8-2) Last Week: 13

After wins over two Indiana schools, Elder ended the regular season by beating La Salle 31-7.

14. Winton Woods, Cincinnati (10-0) Last Week: 14

Perfection acheived. The Warriors defeated Lebanon 44-8 to finish the regular season 10-0.

15. Walsh Jesuit, Cuyahoga Falls (8-2) Last Week: 16

The Warriors rolled over rival St. Vincent-St. Mary 41-14. 

16. Hudson (10-0) Last Week: 17

10 up, 10 down for the Explorers, who finished a perfect regular season with a 42-13 win over Stow-Monroe Falls..

17. West Holmes, Millersburg (10-0) Last Week: 18

The Knights also finished the regular season unbeaten, as they defeated Mount Vernon 49-14

18. Austintown-Fitch (9-1) Last Week: 19

The Falcons rolled to a 59-28 win over Warren G. Harding.

19. Marion Local, Maria Stein (10-0) Last Week: 20

The Flyers took home an undefeated regular season and the Midwest Athletic Conference crown with a 35-0 win over Coldwater.

20. Kings, Kings Mills (9-1) Last Week: 21

The Knights finished off the regular season with a 41-26 win over Anderson.

21. Chardon (8-1) Last Week: 22

The Hilltoppers defeated Eastlake North 35-0 to end the regular season and now start the journey to defending their back-to-back Division III state championships.

22. South Range, Canfield (10-0) Last Week: 24

The Raiders ended the regular season with an easy 28-0 win over head to Hubbard.

23. Ursuline, Youngstown (8-2) Last Week: 25

The Fighting Irish picked up a 13-7 home win over Cardinal Mooney to finish the regular season.

24. St. Ignatius, Cleveland (6-3) Last Week: NR

St. Ignatius ended the regular season with a 10-7 win over Football North (Ontario).

25. Gahanna Lincoln (9-1) Last Week: NR

The Lions rolled over Pickerington North 42-2.
