Meet the SBLive Oklahoma girls basketball all-state teams: Classen SAS senior standout Darianna Littlepage-Buggs is the player of the year

The inaugural SBLive Oklahoma all-state teams

In March, the 2021-22 girls basketball season culminated in the Oklahoma City area with the state tournaments.

The season was an eventful one, which saw the national spotlight shine on Oklahoma prep teams and players. 

Below are all-state teams honoring 24 outstanding players as well as the unveiling of our Player, Coach and Freshman of the Year awards. 

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Darianna Littlepage-Buggs | Classen SAS | Wing | SR

15.6 ppg/ 13.3 rbd/ 2.2 ast/ 2.2 stl/ 1.8 blk/ 61% FG/ 54% FT

Averaged 15.6 points in the 4A state tournament

Scored 16 points and had 11 rebounds in the 4A championship game

Named the MVP of the 4A state tournament

Named the Gatorade Oklahoma Player of the Year

McDonald's All-American

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR

Sania Richardson | Ada | Point Guard | FR

21.2 ppg/ 3.3 ast/ 2.9 stl/ 45% FG/ 36% 3 FG/ 81% FT

Helped lead Ada to a 21-6 record, highlighted by a regular season sweep against rival and eventual Class 5A state champion McAlester

Made the All-Tournament team at the Tournament of Champions in Fort Smith, Ark., and was also the MVP of both the East Central Classic and the Purcell Classic

COACH OF THE YEAR

Mark McKenzie | Pocola

28-1 season record; only loss was in January to Heavener, and ended the season winning 13 straight games

Had coached Pocola to the 2008 2A title before retiring; then came out of retirement several years ago to guide the Lady Indians once again

Won the Hartshorne Tournament, the Choctaw Nation Invitational Tournament and the LeFlore County Tournament

Team went 6-0 against Top 10 ranked teams and 16-0 against Class 2A competition
