Meet the SBLive Oklahoma boys basketball all-state teams: Tulsa Memorial's Ty Frierson is the player of the year

The inaugural SBLive Oklahoma all-state teams

In March, the 2021-22 boys basketball season culminated in the Oklahoma City area with the state tournaments.

The season was an eventful one, which saw the national spotlight shine on Oklahoma prep teams and players.

Below are all-state teams honoring 24 outstanding players as well as the unveiling of our Player, Coach and Freshman of the Year awards. 

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Ty Frierson | Tulsa Memorial | Point Guard | SR

17.3 ppg/ 2.3 rbd/ 5.9 ast/ 2.3 stl/ 56% FG/ 64% 2 FG/ 43% 3 FG/ 89% FT

Averaged 23 points in the 5A state tournament in helping the Chargers win the championship

Scored 22 points in the 5A championship game

Named the MVP of the 5A state tournament

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR

Helped lead Crossings Christian to the 4A state semifinals

COACH OF THE YEAR

28-1 season record, and the only loss was by two points

Had to replace all five starters from last season's team

Won the Cleveland Tournament, the Wheat Capital Tournament and Buckle of the Wheatbelt Tournament

Team went 5-0 against Top 10 ranked teams
