SBLive Oklahoma Top 25 baseball rankings: Undefeated Silo remains No. 1 as regular season winds down

For baseball teams in the higher classifications, regular season games gradually begin wrapping up.

Next week, teams in all classes will be involved in postseason play, and even Class A and B teams will have their state tournaments. This week, the 2A through 4A schools are involved in the bi-district round.

However, one of those teams in the 2A-4A range, the top-ranked team in this week's SBLive Oklahoma Top 25, actually will start postseason play next week.

Here now is the SBLive Oklahoma Top 25 high school baseball rankings, with games updated through Tuesday. 

1. Silo (21-0)

The Rebels drew a bye from the Class 2A district round and will advance to next week's regional tournament. Silo will have a couple of tune-ups prior to next week with a scheduled game Friday against 4A Marlow and Monday against 3A Kingston.

2. Bixby (28-6, 11-3 6A-4)

After a dominating win last week against surging Sand Springs, the Spartans stubbed their toe in the opening game of their final district series with Bartlesville, falling 15-10. But Bixby came back on Tuesday with a 6-0 win to finish tied for first with Tulsa Union for the district title. The Spartans own the top seed by virtue of their two-game sweep against the Redhawks.

3. Owasso (25-7, 12-2 6A-3) 

In a highly competitive district race, the Rams were able to hold off both Jenks and Sand Springs to take the 6A-3 title. Owasso won its fifth straight game Tuesday by sweeping Broken Arrow, 16-4, after having posted a 7-1 win against the Tigers on Monday.

4. Sand Springs (28-5, 11-3 6A-3)

Though the Sandites dropped a non-district game last week to Bixby, they finished district play with a flourish with a two-game sweep against Putnam City North, winning 4-0 on Monday and then 25-7 on Tuesday. Sand Springs also finished tied for second in the district with Jenks, and the Sandites own the tiebreaker by virtue of their two-game sweep against the Trojans.

5. Edmond Deer Creek (26-9, 12-2 6A-1)

Deer Creek dropped three of five games within the past week, and also split its final district series against Edmond Memorial. But Monday's 3-2 win in the series opener with the Bulldogs enabled the Antlers to claim the outright 6A-1 title.

6. Heritage Hall (24-2, 12-0 3A-3)

The Chargers enter the 3A postseason on a seven-game win streak, including a sweep against Holdenville (8-14, 0-2) to finish with a perfect district record. Heritage Hall will host Star Spencer in its bi-district series this week.

7. Verdigris (24-4, 12-0 4A-5)

Verdigris has won seven straight games, including a 4-3 win on April 23 against 6A Tulsa Union. The Cardinals will face North Rock Creek in their 4A bi-district playoff this week.

8. Jenks (28-6, 11-3 6A-3)

Don't count the Trojans out of the 6A title picture. Jenks won its sixth straight game Tuesday after recording a two-game district sweep against Ponca City, 2-0. The Trojans posted a 10-0 win in Monday's opener.

9. Tuttle (28-8, 13-1 4A-1)

The Tigers went 2-3 within the past week, including a 2-2 mark against fellow 4A foes. But Tuttle will be ready for postseason play this week, starting with its bi-district series at home against Oklahoma City Douglass.

10. Piedmont (24-7, 12-2 5A-1)

Although the Wildcats split six games over the past week, Piedmont picked up its most important win on Tuesday, beating Midwest City Carl Albert, 5-2, to salvage the second game of its district series. That enabled the Wildcats to claim the 5A-1 title by a game against the Titans.

11. Sapulpa (26-8, 14-0 5A-3)

The red-hot Chieftains finished undefeated in district play after sweeping Bishop Kelley, winning 4-2 on Monday and 9-5 on Tuesday. Sapulpa has now won 12 straight and 18 of its last 19.

12. Cushing (25-4, 12-2 4A-6)

Cushing split a pair of tune-up games in preparation for the 4A playoffs, falling to Sperry but rebounding on Monday with a 14-2 win against Claremore-Sequoyah. The Tigers are at home this week for their bi-district playoff with Catoosa.

13. Collinsville (29-6, 11-1 5A-4)

The Cardinals wrapped up the outright 5A-4 district title with a two-game sweep against Claremore. Collinsville won on Monday, 4-0; then got a 12-7 win a day later.

14. Blanchard (26-5, 14-0 4A-2)

In a showdown against fellow 4A contender Tuttle on Monday, the Lions came up on the short end of a 4-2 decision. But the next day, Blanchard beat 3A contender Washington, 3-2. Blanchard is at home this week to start 4A postseason play, facing Oklahoma City John Marshall in the bi-districts.

15. Victory Christian (30-6, 14-0 3A-7)

The Conquerors claimed the outright district title a week ago and also picked up their 30th win Monday with a 10-2 win against Ketchum. Victory drew a bye from the 3A bi-districts this week and will move into next week's regionals.

16. Westmoore (24-10, 10-4 6A-1)

Westmoore finished out district play on a high note with a sweep against a very solid Edmond North squad. The Jaguars prevailed 4-0 on Monday and then got a 4-3 win Tuesday.

17. Edmond Santa Fe (24-10, 11-3 6A-2)

The Wolves got a big win last week, beating crosstown rival Deer Creek, 8-2, in the COAC Tournament. Santa Fe dropped the opener of its final district series to Mustang on Monday, 4-2; but came back with a 7-2 win Tuesday to claim at least a share of the 6A-2 title.

18. Choctaw (25-6, 8-4 6A-2)

Choctaw is making a big late-season push toward the playoffs. The Yellowjackets have won five straight games, including an 8-1 win against 4A contender Tuttle on April 21. Then earlier this week, they outscored Capitol Hill, 35-0, in their final two-game district series.

19. Oklahoma Christian School (28-6, 14-0 3A-1)

The Saints have been on a roll, winning 11 straight games, including a 13-5 triumph against 2A contender Dale on Monday. OCS drew a bye from this week's 3A bi-districts and will advance to next week's regional round.

20. Duncan (23-7, 13-1 5A-2)

In their final district series of the season, the Demons got a split with Noble. Duncan lost 4-2 on Monday, but on Tuesday, the Demons handed the Bears a 9-4 defeat, Noble's first district loss. It also allowed Duncan to get at least a share of the 5A-2 title.

21. Edmond North (25-7, 8-4 6A-1)

After winning 12 straight ballgames, the Huskies have now dropped three straight, including their two-game district series to Westmoore.

22. Canute (21-1)

The Trojans got a 7-6 win against Granite in non-district action on Monday. Canute is at home starting Thursday to begin its Class A regional tournament.

23. Washington (24-9, 12-0 3A-2)

Washington went 2-2 within the past week, falling to 4A contender Blanchard and 2A contender Oktaha. The Warriors did beat 4A Lone Grove and a ranked 2A squad in Hartshorne. Now, they get set to host Oklahoma City Millwood in this week's 3A bi-districts.

24. Marlow (26-6, 14-0 4A-3)

The Outlaws won a state title in football this school year and now look to do the same in baseball. Marlow has won six straight games, capped by a 7-6 win Monday against Class B top-ranked Roff. The Outlaws drew a bye in the 4A bi-districts this week and move on into next week's regionals.

25. Elk City (24-8, 12-0 4A-4)

Another squad determined to make noise in Class 4A are the Elks. They have won six straight games, including a 6-5 decision Tuesday against one of the 4A favorites, Tuttle. Elk City is at home this week to face Dickson in the 4A bi-district round.
