This week marks the midway point of the high school football regular season. Below is a list of midseason candidates capable of being named the SBLive Oklahoma high school football Most Valuable Player at season's end.

If you know of someone else capable of being on this list, let us know.

DJ McKinney, Tulsa Union

The Redhawks are sitting at 5-0 on the season thanks in large part to the play of McKinney, their primary tailback.

On 80 carries, he has 700 yards rushing and nine touchdowns. The senior also has two receiving touchdowns.

Luke Hasz, Bixby

The Spartans continue to roll along with ease as they recently made the move up to Class 6A-I. As a tight end, Hasz is averaging 14.3 yards per catch and will be playing at the University of Arkansas next year.

Dax Noles, Norman

Noles has done a little bit of everything for his Tiger football team. He leads the state with 76 tackles and has two interceptions, a fumble recovery and a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Jacobe Johnson, Mustang

Johnson is one of the top recruits in the state, having recently made a verbal commitment to play at the University of Oklahoma. Johnson is an all-around athlete on the football field, and has led his Broncos' team to a 4-1 start.

Jamarian Ficklin, Muskogee

The sophomore quarterback has led his team to a 5-0 start and with his impressive play, the Roughers are in contention for the 6A-II title. Ficklin has passed for nearly 1,400 yards and 22 touchdown passes.

Noah Roberts, Stillwater

Roberts has led the Pioneer running attack this season, running for 665 yards and assisting his team to a 5-0 start so far. Roberts is averaging 133 yards per game and has scored 14 touchdowns on the year.

Luke Rauh, Enid

After a little bit of a slow start to the season, Rauh is quietly coming onto the scene, as are the Enid Plainsmen, who sit at 3-2 on the season.

Rauh rushed for 212 yards two weeks ago and had over 300 yards in a Homecoming win last Friday.

Michael Graham Jr., OKC Southeast

Graham Jr. has been part of a Spartan offense outscoring its opponents, 259-100, through five games.

He has passed for 12 touchdowns and ran for four more, accumulating nearly 1,200 yards of total offense. Graham Jr. threw the game-winning touchdown pass on the final play of the game last Friday against Cache.

Hudson Henslick, Collinsville

Henslick has accumulated 654 receiving yards and scored eight touchdowns for the defending Class 5A state champions.

After graduating 22 seniors, it was expected the Cardinals might take a step back, but Henslick and other playmakers have Collinsville right in the hunt for the 5A crown once again.

Erik McCarty, McAlester

McCarty is a University of Oklahoma commit and is having a successful senior season for McAlester, having gotten over 1,500 all-purpose yards in five games played.

In his most recent game, McCarty helped lead a late comeback against Del City in which he had four touchdowns, including catches from 50 and 80 yards out. He also had 10 tackles and a blocked punt.

Kirk Francis, Metro Christian

The Patriots' QB recently passed for more than 6,000 yards for his career and that number is only going to rise as he has led his team to a 5-0 start. As a senior, Francis is averaging more than 300 yards per game.

Chance Wilson, Rejoice Christian

The senior quarterback has powered his team to a 5-0 start and Wilson is averaging more than 373 yards per game. Wilson - a Montana State commit - has thrown 10 touchdown passes and ran for more than 300 yards.

Mekusapv Martel, Beggs

Martel has done a little bit of everything for his Beggs team, which has started out 3-2.

Martel has three games in which he has rushed for more than 150 yards. In Martel’s most recent game against Victory Christian, he rushed for 339 yards, had 136 yards receiving and two interceptions.

He also recently received a scholarship offer from the University of Kansas.

Reese Roller, Verdigris

Roller is the heart and soul of the undefeated Cardinal football team. Roller is averaging six tackles a game and has eight sacks on the season so far.

Jaxon Woods, Hominy

The do-it-all junior quarterback for the Bucks has led his team to a 5-0 start, including an impressive win against Pawhuska to win the “Battle of the Osage.” Through five games, Woods has accounted for more than 1,400 yards of total offense.

Easton Malone, Barnsdall

Malone is only a sophomore, but has been a key contributor for his Barnsdall team, which has started 4-1.

Through five games, he has rushed for 742 yards and is averaging 12.4 yards per carry. Malone has 15 rushing touchdowns on the season.
