Vote: Who should be SBLive's Oklahoma High School Athlete of the Week (2/12/2024)?

Winter sports are starting to wind down, and several athletes statewide continue to make an impression in those sports. 

Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oklahoma High School Athlete of the Week for Feb. 5-11. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Voting will conclude Sunday at 11:59 p.m. If you would like to nominate an athlete, email athleteoftheweek@scorebooklive.com or tag us on Twitter. 

Jaxton Weedn/Zayne Clampet, Haworth boys basketball

Weedn and Clampet combined to make 18 of the Lions' 27 3-pointers, which set a state record, in their 116-47 win against Foreman (Ark.) on Feb. 9. Weedn finished with 36 points while Clampet added 33.

Reed Hellman, Waukomis boys basketball

Hellman turned in an impressive performance in a Class A district tournament game over the weekend. He had a double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds while adding six assists, six steals and six blocked shots.

Jacob Colvard, Seiling boys basketball

Colvard led the Wildcats with 16 points as Seiling won its Class A district playoff with a 62-37 win against Mooreland.

Darian Grant, Moore boys basketball

Grant recorded a double-double as the surging Lions won their 10th straight game with a 78-71 win at Mustang on Feb. 9. He had 29 points and 11 rebounds along with seven assists.

Davon Chaffin, Oklahoma City Southeast boys basketball

Chaffin scored 31 points in Southeast's 63-55 win against Noble on Feb. 9. He also had seven rebounds to go along with three steals, three assists and one blocked shot.

Reese Roof, Weatherford girls basketball

Roof launched a 3-pointer to beat the buzzer, lifting the Lady Eagles to a 49-46 win at Blanchard on Feb. 9.

Jordan Brown, Victory Christian boys basketball

Brown was his team's leading scorer with 17 points and also had five rebounds and two blocks in the Conquerors' 64-38 win against Lincoln Christian.

Tyla Heard, Sapulpa girls basketball

Heard scored 13 points to go along with seven steals and four assists in a 73-24 win against Tulsa Edison on Feb. 9, and also had a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds as the Lady Chieftains improved to 17-5 with a 72-32 win against McAlester on Feb. 1.

Bailey Purdom, Quinton girls basketball

Purdom led her team with 30 points as the Lady Savages claimed their Class A district title on Feb. 10 with a 77-38 win against Dewar.

Trey Summers, Dickson boys basketball

Summers scored a team-high 22 points - 14 of those coming in the second half - in Dickson's 66-58 win against Lone Grove.

Roy Henderson, Midwest City boys basketball

Henderson led the Bombers with 26 points in their 89-72 win against Lawton MacArthur on Feb. 9.

McKenzie Mathurin, Broken Arrow girls basketball

Mathurin had a team-high 22 points to lead the surging Lady Tigers to a 72-44 road win at Jenks on Feb. 9.

Maddy Torres, Lone Grove girls basketball

Torres led her team with 14 points as the Lady Longhorns picked up a 50-33 win against Dickson.

Dasia Givens, Duncan girls basketball

Givens scored a team-high 19 points in the Lady Demons' 62-33 win against Woodward on Feb. 9. She had 13 of those points by halftime.

Cherish Haywood, Mustang girls basketball

On Feb. 6, Haywood scored 14 points in her team's 60-31 win against Edmond Deer Creek. Haywood had 10 points to go along with three rebounds as the Lady Broncos posted a 57-40 win against Moore on Feb. 9.

Quincy Hopkins, Midwest City Carl Albert boys basketball

Hopkins scored all 16 of his points in the second half on Feb. 8 as the Titans rallied from a 17-point deficit to edge Crossings Christian, 51-49. The following night, Hopkins had 13 points in a decisive win against Western Heights.

Karizma Johnson, Jones girls basketball

Johnson scored a team-high 23 points in the Lady Longhorns' 42-35 win against Oklahoma Christian School.

Laynee Stanley, Fort Gibson girls basketball

Stanley had a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds in the Lady Tigers' 47-28 win against Ada on Feb. 9.

Nate Benford, Guthrie boys basketball

The Bluejays are one of the biggest surprises this season, going from a sub .500 record a season ago to a 19-3 mark following a 67-61 win against El Reno on Feb. 9. In that game, Benford had 12 points along with eight rebounds, five steals and four assists.

Madi Hill, Owasso girls basketball

Just a freshman, Hill has helped the Lady Rams in contention for a potential deep run in the Class 6A playoffs. She had 20 points and six boards while going 10-of-12 from the free-throw line in a win against Bartlesville and added 14 points in a win against Enid.

Gracy Shieldnight, Wagoner girls basketball

Shieldnight had a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Lady Bulldogs improved to 18-4 after a 45-26 win against Sequoyah-Tahlequah on Feb. 9.

Miller Weast, Inola girls basketball

Weast had a team-high 13 points to go along with four rebounds and five assists as the Lady Longhorns won their eighth straight game, defeating Adair, 52-20, on Feb. 9.

Aiden Hooper, Keys boys basketball

Hooper, a freshman, scored 78 points on consecutive nights. He had 38 on Feb. 9 in a 73-33 win against Vian; then the following day, added 40 points in the Cougars' 80-29 win against Miami.

Jalil Cotton, Tulsa Memorial boys basketball

Cotton had a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds in the Chargers' 59-51 win against Sapulpa on Feb. 6. He also had 13 points in a 59-54 win against Durant on Feb. 9.

Aaliyah Smith, Tulsa Union girls basketball

Smith registered a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds in Union's 55-41 win against Putnam City.

Shamar Bert/Caya Smith, Putnam City West girls basketball

It was a special Senior Night for the lone two seniors on the Lady Patriots' roster. The Lady Patriots improved to 20-1 on Feb. 9 by avenging their lone defeat, beating Edmond Santa Fe, 57-35. Smith also reached 1,500 career points in that game, while Bert eclipsed the 1,000-point barrier in her career.

Tuttle boys wrestling

The Tigers achieved a state-record 15th consecutive dual state championship and a state-record 21st overall dual state title after they defeated Cushing, 44-14, for the Class 4A dual state championship over the weekend in Enid.

Edmond North boys wrestling

The Huskies won the Class 6A dual state championship, their first since 2013, after a 51-9 win against Bixby in the finals. They defeated Edmond Deer Creek in the quarterfinals, 75-0, before dethroning two-time defending state champion Stillwater, 51-13, in the semifinals.

Elgin boys wrestling

The Owls won their second consecutive Class 5A dual state crown as they won each of their first five matches en route to a 38-28 win against Coweta in the finals.

Marlow boys wrestling

The Outlaws won their sixth dual state championship by defeating Blackwell, 42-28, for the 3A crown, avenging a loss in the finals to Blackwell in last season's 3A dual state finals.
