Westview F Alex Clement voted the WaFd Bank Oregon High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week
Congratulations to Westview forward Alex Clement for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Oregon High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 27-Jan. 2!
The senior had a double-double, scoring 15 points while pulling down 10 rebounds, as he helped the Wildcats score a 57-54 win over Ida B. Wells in a non-league game played at Westview High School.
Clement received 53.23% of the vote, beating out North Medford's Bryce Dyer, who finished second with 37.33%. David Douglas' Jay’VanniSarchi finished third with 3.9% and North Medford's Trey Neff finished fourth with 2.82%. There were over 48,000 votes tallied this week!

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for the week of Dec. 27-Jan. 2:
Kalim Brown, Tigard
The junior guard turned in a strong performance for the Tigers at the Les Schwab Invitational, held at Liberty High School. Brown scored at an average of 15.3 points per game during the tournament. He scored 26 points in a 61-59 victory over Gresham.
Cade Collins, Jesuit
The junior wing stepped up for the Crusaders at the Les Schwab Invitational. Collins averaged 15 points per game during the tournament. He scored 28 points in a 71-67 loss against Roosevelt.
Bryce Dyer, North Medford
The senior wing had a big performance for the Black Tornado in an 85-45 win over Ashland at the Abby’s Holiday Classic, held at South Medford High School. In the victory, Dyer had a double-double, with 20 points and 14 rebounds. He also dished out six assists.
Winters Grady, Lake Oswego
The freshman wing was an all-tournament selection for his play at the Les Schwab Invitational. Grady ranked second among all players at the tournament, scoring 24.5 points per game, including a 35-point performance in an 85-77 loss to Cleveland.
Christian Green, Cleveland
The junior wing was an all-tournament selection for his play at the Les Schwab Invitational. Green led all players at the tournament with 37 rebounds (a 9.3 average), while also scoring at a 17.3 clip.
Trevon Hamilton, Beaverton
The senior guard helped lead the Beavers to a 59-43 win over Barlow in the third-place game at the Les Schwab Invitational. In the victory, Hamilton scored 17 points on a 6-for-8 shooting performance. He also had four assists and three steals.
Terrence Hill, Roosevelt
The sophomore guard was an all-tournament selection for his play at the Les Schwab Invitational. Hill topped all scorers in the tournament, averaging 26.8 points per game. He scored 36 points in an 80-74 loss to Barlow.
Jesse Jones, Barlow
The senior center stepped up for the Bruins at the Les Schwab Invitational. Jones averaged 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game during the tournament. He scored 24 points in an 80-74 win over Roosevelt.
Baydon Kullowatz, Sherwood
The senior wing had a double-double, scoring 12 points and pulling down 10 rebounds, as he helped the Bowmen score a 68-60 win over Evergreen, Wash., at the Les Schwab Invitational.
Logan Law, Milwaukie
The junior guard helped the Mustangs go 2-1 and take third place at the Arizona Cactus Jam, held in Phoenix, Ariz. In Milwaukie’s three games at the tournament, Law averaged 21 points, while also having 14 assists, 12 steals and 16 rebounds.
Austin Maurer, Cascade Christian
The 6-foot-11 sophomore post helped the Challengers claim the championship at the Crusader Classic, held at Salem Academy. Maurer scored 32 points in the title game, where Cascade Christian tipped Dayton 62-60 in overtime.
Payton Meyers, Canby
The senior guard had a big game for the Cougars in a 75-68 loss to David Douglas at the Les Schwab Invitational. Meyers scored 27 points, while also having five rebounds and four steals in the contest.
Julian Mora, Summit
The senior point guard had a double-double, scoring 18 points while also dishing out 11 assists, as he helped the Storm post an 86-54 win over Ridgeview in a nonleague contest played at the Summit Holiday Classic.
Samaje Morris, Churchill
The senior guard had a strong performance for the Lancers at the Les Schwab Invitational. Morris averaged 18.3 points per game during the tournament, ranking fifth among all players. He scored 30 points in a 68-63 win over Gresham.
Utrillo Morris, Roosevelt
The sophomore guard was awarded the Deante Strickland Mr. Hustle Award for his play at the Les Schwab Invitational. Morris also scored a total of 49 points in the Roughriders’ four tournament games.
Trey Neff, North Medford
The senior guard helped power the Black Tornado to an 85-45 victory over Ashland at the Abby’s Holiday Classic, held at South Medford High School. In the win, Neff scored 20 points, while also having six rebounds and four assists.
Chase Nelson, Central
The junior post had a double-double, with 10 points and 10 rebounds, as he helped the Panthers score a 50-46 home win over Lebanon in a Mid-Willamette Conference contest.
Noah Ogoli, Tualatin
The senior guard helped lead the Timberwolves to the championship game of the Les Schwab Invitational. Ogoli, an all-tournament selection, averaged a team-best 18.5 points per game at the tournament, while also coming up with 2.3 steals per game.
Esyah Pippa-White, Gresham
The junior led all players at the Les Schwab Invitational with an average of 6.0 assists per game. Pippa-White also scored at a clip of 19.5 points per game, ranking third among all tournament players.
Brady Rice, Beaverton
The junior wing had a strong performance at the Les Schwab Invitational. Rice scored at an average of 19 points per game, ranking fourth among all tournament players. He scored 31 points in a 66-65 win over Cleveland.
Scotty Riddle, Gresham
The junior stepped up for the Gophers at the Les Schwab Invitational. Riddle scored at a 15.8 points per game average for the tournament, including a 20-point performance in a 68-63 loss to Churchill.
Malik Ross, Tualatin
The senior guard helped lead the Timberwolves to a 76-44 win over Beaverton in a semifinal game at the Les Schwab Invitational. In the victory, Ross scored a game-high 16 points, on a 5-for-9 shooting night, while also having six assists.
Jay’Vanni Sarchi, David Douglas
The senior forward helped lead the Scots to a 75-68 win over Canby at the Les Schwab Invitational. Sarchi scored 21 points, on 9-for-11 shooting, while also pulling down eight rebounds in the victory.
Riley Williams, Central Catholic
The 6-foot-7 junior stepped up for the Rams at the Les Schwab Invitational. Williams averaged 6.8 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 1.8 blocked shots per game during the tournament. He scored 19 points in a 67-38 win over Churchill.
