Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oregon High School Team of the Week for Feb. 21-27 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Beaverton girls basketball

Beaverton secured sole possession of the Metro League crown with a 48-38 home win over Jesuit on Thursday. The Beavers (21-1) carry the No. 1 overall seed into this week’s playoffs. 

Benson girls basketball

Benson scored back-to-back-to-back wins over McDaniel, Cleveland and Lincoln to close a perfect 16-0 run through the PIL schedule. 

Central Catholic boys basketball

Central Catholic finished the regular season with road wins over playoff qualifiers Clackamas and Gresham to complete a perfect 16-0 run through the Mt. Hood Conference. The Rams have won 19 in a row — their last setback coming in late December at the Les Schwab Invitational. 

Cleveland boys basketball

Cleveland secured the PIL title with a 58-52 home win over Grant on Wednesday, followed by a 57-43 win at Ida B. Wells on Friday night.

Crescent Valley wrestling

Crescent Valley won the 5A state title with 241 points, crowning seven weight-class champions and sending another wrestler to the finals. The Raiders finished with a tournament-high 28 pins. 

Culver wrestling

Host Culver maintained its dominance of the 2A/1A ranks, with four individual champions and four other medalists leading the Bulldogs to their 14th title in the past 16 seasons. 

Jesuit boys basketball

Jesuit notched a 44-35 home win over runner-up Beaverton on Thursday to claim the Metro League title. 

La Grande wrestling

LaGrande won the 4A state title with 275.5 points, crowning three weight-class champions and sending two others to the finals.

La Pine wrestling

Defending champion La Pine won its third 3A title in the past four seasons, this time wrestling on its home mats as it defeated rival Burns by 33 points. 

Lakeridge girls basketball

Lakeridge knocked off fellow playoff qualifiers Tigard and St. Mary’s Academy to secure the Three Rivers League title with a 13-1 league record. 

Newberg wrestling

Newberg scored a record 418 points to claim the 6A wrestling title on Sunday. The Tigers crowned six weight-class champions and put 17 wrestlers on the podium. Newberg has 13 state team titles to its credit, making it Oregon’s most decorated wrestling program. 

Riddle boys basketball

Riddle punched its ticket to the small-school state tournament in Baker City with a 48-45 road win at Valley 10 champion Country Christian on Friday.

Ridgeview girls basketball

Intermountain champion Ridgeview went on the road to knock off Oregon West Conference champion Philomath 61-54 to close out the regular season on Friday.

Silverton boys basketball

Silverton secured the Mid-Willamette title with a 47-40 win at runner-up Crescent Valley on Friday night.

Silverton girls basketball

Silverton emerged alone in first place in the Mid-Willamette Conference with a 52-48 home win over Crescent Valley on Friday night.  

South Medford boys basketball

South Medford emerged alone atop the Southwest Conference with a 50-44 win at rival North Medford on Friday night, followed by a 76-36 home blowout over Sheldon on Saturday. The Panthers went a perfect 10-0 in league play.

South Medford girls basketball

South Medford won the Southwest Conference championship with a 69-31 home win over Sheldon to complete a season sweep of the Irish and a 10-0 run through league.

Summit boys basketball

Summit scored a 67-57 win at West Salem on Wednesday, followed by an 82-44 home win over McKay the next night to complete a perfect 23-0 regular season.
