Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oregon High School Team of the Week for April 4-10 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Astoria softball

Astoria (9-2) started Cowapa League play with a 12-1 win over Tillamook on Tuesday, followed by an 8-4 win at Banks on Friday. 

Banks baseball

Banks (8-1) opened the Cowapa League schedule with a 9-0 shutout over Valley Catholic on Tuesday, followed by a 7-1 road win over Astoria on Friday. 

Central Catholic boys/girls track

Central Catholic swept Sandy and Centennial in the first Mt. Hood Conference meet of the season. The Rams won six events on the boys side, using a convincing win in the 1,600-meter relay to secure both team duals. On the girls side, Central Catholic swept the 300-meter hurdles, the 400 dash and the 3,000 distance race, while picking up wins in 11 of the day’s 17 events. 

Clackamas baseball

Clackamas (9-2) opened the Mt. Hood Conference season by taking two from Central Catholic, highlighted by a 5-4 win in Thursday’s first game. 

Crater softball

Crater (10-4) opened league play with a doubleheader sweep over Churchill on Friday, outscoring the Lancers by a combined 31-2. The Comets started the week by moving up a class to defeat South Medford 4-3.  

Hidden Valley baseball

Hidden Valley (10-0) remained perfect on the season with an 8-2 win at Siuslaw on Tuesday, followed by a 13-0 shutout of Gladstone on Friday. 

Jesuit softball

Jesuit (11-0) notched a 5-4 win over Sheldon in a battle of top-10 teams Monday, followed by a 7-0 shutout over West Linn on Thursday. 

Marist Catholic softball

Marist Catholic (7-1) stepped up a class and notched a 13-1 win at top-10 Ridgeview on Wednesday and finished the week with a 12-0 home shutout over Henley on Friday. 

Marshfield boys track 

The Marshfield boys scored 190 points to win the five-team Coos County meet Friday. The Pirates scored first-place points across seven events, highlighted by 1-2 finishes in the pole vault and 3,000-meter race. 

Mountain View baseball

Mountain View (11-1) picked up a 12-2 win over Silverton on Tuesday and blanked Crook County 16-0 on Friday. The Cougars have been held under 10 runs only twice this season.

Mountainside baseball

Mountainside (8-1) started the Metro League schedule with a three-game sweep of Aloha, highlighted by a 4-3 win in the series opener Monday. 

Pendleton boys/girls track

Pendleton swept the team titles at Friday’s La Grande Invitational, scoring 152 points on the boys side and 122.5 points in the girls meet. The Buckaroos won five events in the boys meet and claimed top-three finishes in six other events. Pendleton won six events on the girls side, highlighted by a 1-2-3 sweep in the pole vault. 

Putnam baseball

Putnam (7-3) started the Northwest Oregon schedule with a three-game sweep over St. Helens, surrendering only one run during the series. 

Roseburg baseball

Roseburg (8-4) started the Southwest Conference season with a 3-0, 6-5 doubleheader sweep of North Medford on Saturday. 

Sprague softball

Sprague (9-2) defeated Liberty 17-2 on Tuesday and Aloha 11-7 on Friday, marking five times this season that the Olympians have surpassed 10 runs in a game. 

Tigard softball

Tigard (11-1) recorded home wins over Westview, Dallas and West Salem last week.

Tualatin baseball

Tualatin (7-2) opened Three Rivers League play with a three-game sweep of rival Tigard, outscoring the Tigers 29-4. 

West Linn baseball

West Linn (8-2) started Three Rivers League play with a three-game sweep over Lake Oswego, outscoring their Highway 43 rivals 28-3 in the series.

Wilsonville boys/girls track

Wilsonville swept St. Helens and Scappoose in the Northwest Oregon opener Wednesday. On the boys side, the Wildcats swept the 400, 800 and 1,500 races along with the high hurdles. In the field events, Wilsonville collected 1-2-3 finishes in the shot put and discus. In the girls meet, Wilsonville recorded 10 victories, highlighted by sweeps in all three jumping events.
