Congratulations to South Medford RHP Carson Joe for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Oregon High School Baseball Player of the Week for April 18-24!

The senior went 3 for 4 with a grand slam, a triple, one run and six RBIs, helping the Panthers run to a 14-1 win over South Eugene in a Southwest Conference game at South Eugene High School.

Joe received 49.99% of the vote, beating out Sherwood's Nolan Umlandt who finished second with 37.87%. South Salem's Carter Nelson finished third with 3.99% and Mazama's Kadin Bolanos finished fourth with 3.55%

The sophomore right-hander threw a complete-game shutout, allowing three hits while striking out nine and walking four, leading the Celtics to a 2-0 win over South Salem in a Mountain Valley Conference contest at McNary High School.

Blayne Boersma, Henley

The junior went 4 for 5 with two triples, a stolen base, four runs and five RBIs, helping power the Hornets to a 21-1 win over Klamath Union in a Skyline Conference game at Henley High School.

Kadin Bolanos, Mazama

The senior had a huge day at the plate for the Vikings in their 17-3 win over North Valley in a Skyline Conference game at Kiger Stadium. Bolanos went 3 for 3 with two doubles, a triple, a stolen base, two runs and five RBIs.

Buddy Brands, Tigard

The junior right-hander pitched a complete-game shutout, giving up two hits while striking out five and walking two, leading the Tigers to a 1-0 win over Lake Oswego in a Three Rivers League game at Tigard High School. Brands also went 2 for 3 at the plate, driving in the game’s only run.

Carson Bush, Lake Oswego

The senior threw a complete-game shutout, giving up five hits while striking out five and walking none, leading the Lakers to a 4-0 win over Tigard in a Three Rivers League game at Tigard High School.

Jake Dodge, Southridge

The senior left-hander pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing four hits while striking out six and walking five, leading the Skyhawks to a 2-0 win over Canby in a nonleague game at Canby High School.

Quin Dufort, Ida B. Wells

The sophomore left-hander threw a complete-game shutout, giving up two hits while striking out nine and walking one, leading the Guardians to a 2-0 win over Lincoln in a Portland Interscholastic League game at the Lake Road Field in Milwaukie. Dufort drove in three runs and picked up the save on the mound in a 7-5 win over Lincoln.

Markus Everitt, Newport

The junior went 2 for 3 with a double, a stolen base, two runs and three RBIs, helping the Cubs earn a 6-4 win over Sisters in the first game of an Oregon West Conference doubleheader at Frank Wade Field. Everitt scored two runs and drove in two runs in a 12-4 second-game victory.

Michael Fitzgerald, Sunset

The junior left-hander spun a complete-game shutout, giving up four hits while striking out nine and walking two, helping lead the Apollos to a 9-0 win over Beaverton in a Metro League game at Sunset High School.

Parker Guinn, McMinnville

The junior pitched a complete-game shutout, giving up three hits while striking out five and walking two, helping the Grizzlies earn a 1-0 win over Glencoe in a Pacific Conference game at Patton Middle School.

Garrett Holpuch, Corvallis

The senior threw a no-hitter, striking out 13 while walking none and hitting one batter with a pitch, leading the Spartans to a 4-0 win over Central in a Mid-Willamette Conference game at Corvallis High School.

Ky Hoskinson, McMinnville

The senior followed his perfect game the week before by throwing a no-hitter, leading the Grizzlies to a 5-0 win over Glencoe in a Pacific Conference game at Hillsboro Stadium. In his seven innings, Hoskinson gave up no hits while striking out 15 and walking none. Only a dropped third strike kept Hoskinson from possibly throwing a second consecutive perfect game.

Levi Jones, Jesuit

The junior belted a three-run homer in the top of the seventh inning, breaking a 1-1 tie and giving the Crusaders a 4-1 win over Mountainside in a Metro League game at Mountainside High School. Jones went 2 for 4 and drove in all four Jesuit runs.

Cole Katayama-Stall, Westview

The sophomore threw a complete-game shutout, giving up five hits while striking out four and walking one, leading the Wildcats to a 6-0 win over Aloha in a Metro League contest at Sunset High School.

Gage Lee, Sunset

The senior went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, a run and two RBIs, helping the Apollos notch a 9-0 win over Beaverton in a Metro League game at Sunset High School.

Brian Mannion, Mountainside

The senior right-hander pitched a complete-game shutout, giving up three hits while striking out nine and walking one, leading the Mavericks to a 1-0 win over Jesuit in a Metro League game at Jesuit High School.

Drew Miller, Knappa

The senior had a big day, both hitting and pitching, for the Loggers in their 15-0 win over Vernonia in a Special District 1 game at Tapiola Park. At the plate, Miller went 2 for 3 with two doubles, two runs and six RBIs. On the mound, he threw four shutout innings, giving up one hit while striking out 11 and walking none.

Dom Montiel, Marshfield

The senior went 4 for 5 with a double, two runs and seven RBIs, helping the Pirates run to a 19-5 win over Elmira in a Sky Em League game at Elmira.

Toby Nation, Heppner/Ione

The senior went 3 for 4 with a home run, a run and three RBIs while also picking up the pitching win for the Mustangs in their 12-2 win over Pilot Rock/Nixyaawii in a Special District 7 contest.

Carter Nelson, South Salem

The sophomore went 3 for 3 with a home run, a walk, two runs and an RBI, helping the Saxons earn a 7-6 win over McNary in a Mountain Valley Conference game at Gilmore Park.

Bryson Nygren, Regis

The freshman threw a no-hitter, helping lead the Rams to a 9-1 win over Lowell in a Central Valley Conference game at Regis High School. Nygren gave up one unearned run while striking out 17 and walking none.

Finbar O’Brien, La Salle Prep

The junior threw a complete-game shutout, giving up five hits while striking out 10 and walking none, helping the Falcons earn a 5-0 win over Scappoose in a Northwest Oregon Conference game at La Salle Prep.

Devan Otley-Smith, Burns

The senior blasted a grand slam and drove in eight runs, helping lead the Hilanders to a 29-3, five-inning win over Umatilla in an Eastern Oregon League game at Umatilla. Otley-Smith went 2 for 4 with a walk, a stolen base and five runs.

Ryan Rivers, Lebanon

The junior went 2 for 3 with a double, a walk, a sacrifice fly, three runs and three RBIs, helping power the Warriors to a 20-6 win over South Albany in a Mid-Willamette Conference game at South Albany High School. Rivers went 2 for 3 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs in a 13-3 home win over North Salem.

Owen Thompson, Cascade Christian

The junior pitched a complete-game shutout, giving up one hit while striking out nine and walking six for the Challengers in their 1-0 win over South Umpqua in a Far West League game at the US Cellular Fields in Medford. Thompson also singled in the game’s only run.

Ian Umlandt, Sherwood

The senior went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, two runs and three RBIs, helping the Bowmen roll to a 14-0, five-inning win over Forest Grove in a Pacific Conference game at Sherwood High School.

Nolan Umlandt, Sherwood

The sophomore threw a perfect game, leading the Bowmen to a 14-0, five-inning win over Forest Grove in a Pacific Conference contest at Sherwood High School. In his five innings, Umlandt struck out nine and walked none. He also went 2 for 2 at the plate with a double and three RBIs.

Jake Von Lubken, Hood River Valley

The junior went 3 for 5 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs, helping lead the Eagles to a 13-10 win over Crook County in an Intermountain Conference game at Hood River Valley High School. Von Lubken threw a five-inning shutout, giving up three hits while striking out six and walking three, in a 10-0 win over Crook Country.
