Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oregon High School Team of the Week for April 25-May 1 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Astoria softball

Astoria (14-2) remained unbeaten in the Cowapa League with back-to-back one-run wins over Tillamook and Banks. 

Cascade softball

Cascade (14-3) took charge in the Oregon West Conference with three shutout wins over Sisters, Sweet Home and Philomath. 

Dallas softball

Dallas (11-5) recorded a 7-2 win over Lebanon on Friday in a battle for first place in the Mid-Willamette Conference. The Dragons opened the week with wins over North Salem and Crescent Valley by a combined 31-0. 

David Douglas girls track

The David Douglas girls beat Central Catholic 74-70 and Gresham 94-36 in a Mt. Hood Conference meet Tuesday. The Scots won five of the seven field events, pulling off 1-2-3 sweeps in the shot put and high jump. 

Franklin boys track

The Franklin boys piled up 99 points to win Saturday’s Centennial Invitational by almost 40 points. The Lightning dominated the distance races, highlighted by a 1-2-3 sweep in the 3,000-meter final, along with a 1-2 finish in the 1,500 and filling three of the top five places in the 800. Franklin also pulled off a win in the 1,600-meter relay.

Grant baseball

Grant (14-5) won four games in five days to stay perfect in the PIL. The Generals opened the week with a 3-2 win over second-place Roosevelt on Tuesday and put up a season-high 19 runs in a win over Benson on Friday.

Grants Pass girls track

The Grants Pass girls team won its 25-team Rotary Invitational on Saturday with 123 points, beating runner-up South Eugene by 40. Grants Pass scored first-place points in the discus and had top-three finishes in eight other events.

Hood River Valley baseball

Hood River Valley emerged in first place in the Intermountain Conference after sweeping a doubleheader at Pendleton by a combined score of 18-4 on Friday. The Eagles opened the week with a 12-0 shutout at Crook County.

Lakeridge boys/girls track

Lakeridge swept the team titles at Friday’s Dean Nice Invitational hosted by Gresham High School. The Pacers piled up 108.5 points to top the 16-team leaderboard on the boys side, winning three events and having top-three finishes in five other events. Lakeridge scored 76 points to edge David Douglas by three in the girls meet. The Pacers girls finished first and third in the 3,000-meter race and had four other top-three finishes. 

McMinnville baseball

McMinnville (18-1) swept a three-game set against Liberty by a combined score of 36-3 to remain atop the Pacific Conference standings. 

Oregon City girls track

The Pioneers won the team title at the prestigious Jesuit Twilight Relays with 61 points. Summit was second with 50. Harley Daniel (100 hurdles) and Sophia Beckmon (long jump) won their events. The 4x100 relay team also took first place.

Roosevelt softball

Roosevelt won four games in four days to solidify its spot atop the PIL. The run included back-to-back wins over playoff-contender Grant by a combined score of 36-15.

Roseburg baseball

Roseburg (12-5) notched one-run wins over South Eugene and Sheldon to maintain its spot atop the Southwest Conference. 

South Medford softball

South Medford (16-3) remained in the chase for the Southwest Conference crown by picking up a 1-0 win over fellow contender Grants Pass on Tuesday, followed by a 10-2 win at rival North Medford on Saturday.

Thurston baseball

Thurston (17-2) stayed atop the Midwestern League by taking a doubleheader against Churchill on Saturday.

Tigard softball

Tigard (19-1) continued its dominance of the Three Rivers League by blanking Lakeridge, Canby and Lake Oswego to run its streak of shutouts to six. 

Westview baseball

Westview (12-6) maintained a tie atop the Metro League after pulling off a three-game series sweep over Sunset, outscoring the Apollos by a combined 29-12.

Wilsonville baseball

Wilsonville (16-2) stayed in first place in the Northwest Oregon Conference by sweeping a three-game set with Milwaukie by a combined score of 41-2.

Wilsonville softball

Wilsonville (16-3) shut out Scappoose 10-0 in a battle for first place in the Northwest Oregon Conference on Tuesday. The Wildcats followed with home wins over Putnam and Parkrose by a combined 33-1.
