Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oregon High School Team of the Week for May 9-15 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers. 

Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Voting will conclude Sunday at 11:59 p.m.

Astoria softball

Astoria (19-2) won four games in five days, including a couple of shutouts over rival Seaside and a 13-2 home win over second-place Valley Catholic on Saturday. 

Banks baseball

Banks (19-2) remained undefeated in the Cowapa League after taking two from second-place Tillamook by a combined score of 25-0. Banks ended the week Saturday with a 17-1 win at Seaside.

Bend softball

Bend (24-1) secured the Mountain Valley title by sweeping a Saturday doubleheader over runner-up McNary by a combined score of 12-4. The Lava Bears took two from West Salem by a combined 20-3 on Thursday.

Central Catholic boys/girls track

Central Catholic swept the Mt. Hood Conference titles Wednesday, piling up 338 points in the girls meet and 268 points on the boys side. The boys team won eight of 10 races on the track, scoring 57 team points in the three distance races alone. The girls team won eight events, highlighted by 1-2-3 sweeps in the 1,500 and 3,000 races.

Clackamas baseball

Clackamas (22-3) ended the week tops in the Mt. Hood Conference after a two-game sweep over Sandy and an 8-1 win over playoff-contending Reynolds.

Crater boys track

The Crater boys won the Midwestern League district meet Thursday with 155 points, winning five events, highlighted by a series of 1-2 sweeps across all three distance races.

Estacada softball

Estacada (18-6) secured the Tri-Valley Conference title with an 18-2 win over runner-up Corbett on Wednesday, followed by a 12-1 win at Madras on Thursday.

Jesuit baseball

Jesuit (21-3) ended the week at the top of the OSAA rankings after nonleague wins over playoff-bound Tualatin and Sherwood by a combined 10-1 score.

Jesuit boys/girls track

Jesuit swept the Metro League district titles, with the girls scoring 391 points, while the boys team totaled 317 points. The Jesuit girls scored first-place points in six events, highlighted by 1-2-3 sweeps in the 800- and 1,500-meter races. The boys team was led by its distance crew, scoring 55 points across the multi-lap finals.

La Grande baseball

La Grande (23-1) claimed the Greater Oregon League title by winning 8-0 and 4-0 shutouts over runner-up Baker in a Friday doubleheader.

Lake Oswego girls track

The Lake Oswego girls totaled 306.5 points to win the Three Rivers League district meet Wednesday. The Lakers scored first-place points in 7 of the 10 track events, while also winning the discus.

Lakeridge baseball

Lakeridge (20-5) secured first place in the Three Rivers League with a three-game sweep over runner-up West Linn, including a 4-0 shutout in Tuesday’s opener.

Lebanon baseball

Lebanon (17-4) swept two from Silverton to open the week, then took a 3-0 shutout over playoff-bound Corvallis on Friday to end the week tied atop the Mid-Willamette Conference.

Lincoln girls track

The Lincoln girls piled up 300 points to win the PIL district meet Tuesday with first-place points across five events. The Cardinals scored 47 points across the four jumping events.

Mazama baseball

Mazama secured the Skyline Conference crown by sweeping a three-game set with Henley, highlighted by winning a road doubleheader Saturday by a combined score of 22-15.

Nelson softball

Nelson (13-9) boosted its playoff chances with a 13-9 win at Gresham on Monday, followed by an 8-5 win at Barlow on Thursday. The Hawks finished the week in second place in the Mt. Hood Conference. 

North Marion baseball

North Marion (20-4) remained perfect in the Tri-Valley Conference after a 9-1 win over Madras on Tuesday and a 6-2 win at Gladstone on Wednesday — the Huskies' closest pursuers in league.

Pendleton softball

Pendleton (20-2) secured the Intermountain Conference title with a 1-0 home win over runner-up Ridgeview on Tuesday, followed by a 5-0 shutout at La Grande on Wednesday. The Buckaroos ended the week atop the OSAA 5A rankings.

Sherwood boys/girls track

Sherwood swept the Pacific Conference track titles with the men’s team finishing with 422 points and the girls team totaling 420.5. The Bowmen won 11 of the 17 events on the boys side to go with six runner-up finishes. The Sherwood girls won four events and had eight second-place finishes.

Sprague baseball

Sprague (19-6) is tied atop the Mountain Valley Conference after one-run wins over McNary and Summit last week. 

Tualatin boys track

The Tualatin boys scored 306.5 points to win the Three Rivers League district meet Wednesday with 1-2-3 sweeps in the 1,500 and 3,000 races, while also winning both relays.

Wells baseball

Ida B. Wells (16-10) secured second place in the PIL with a couple of one-run wins over Cleveland after starting the week with a 24-2 win at Benson — the team’s second time topping 20 runs this season.

Westview softball

Westview (19-6) won a battle atop the Metro League 9-4 over Mountainside on Monday, then finished the week by outscoring Aloha and Beaverton by a combined 34-1.

Willamette baseball

Willamette (18-3) swept a home doubleheader over Ashland by a combined score of 14-2 on Saturday to move to second place in the Midwestern League.

Wilsonville baseball

Wilsonville (20-3) moved up a class and notched a 4-2 win over Bend on Tuesday and a 4-1 win over West Salem on Thursday.

Wilsonville softball

Wilsonville (22-3) secured the Northwest Oregon title with a 12-1 mercy-rule win at runner-up Scappoose on Wednesday. The Wildcats have 11 shutouts in league play.

Wilsonville boys/girls track

Wilsonville swept the Northwest Oregon Conference district meets on its home track Thursday with the boys team piling up 213 points, while the girls team scored 144 points. The Wildcats boys scored first-place points in 11 events, scoring 52 points in the throws. The girls team won three events, scoring 51 points across the jumps and vaults.
