Congratulations to North Medford SS/3B Frankie Rutigliano for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Oregon High School Baseball Player of the Week for May 9-15!

The sophomore singled in the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, helping the Black Tornado post a 7-6 win over South Eugene in a Southwest Conference game at North Medford. Rutigliano finished 2 for 4 with two RBIs. He also hit a home run in a conference game against Sheldon.

Rutigliano received 42.58% of the vote, beating out Lincoln's Colton Schmokel who finished second with 26.26%. Sheldon's Taylor Langworthy finished third with 21.78% and The Dalles' Manatu Crichton-Tunai finished fourth with 4.33%. There were over 38,000 votes tallied this week!

Kaden Bertram, Southridge

The senior smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning, giving the Skyhawks a 4-3 win over Sunset in a Metro League game at Sunset High School. Bertram finished 2 for 4.

Brady Bloss, Lincoln

The junior went 3 for 3 with a double, a stolen base, a run and four RBIs, helping lead the Cardinals to a 16-1 win over Benson in a Portland Interscholastic League game at the Marshall campus.

Eli Crist, Thurston

The junior went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, four runs and two RBIs, helping the Colts run to a 13-4 win over Lincoln in a nonleague game at Thurston High School.

Manatu Crichton-Tunai, The Dalles

The junior hit a home run and drove in six runs for the Riverhawks in their 15-11 win over Crook County in an Intermountain Conference game at Crook County High School. Crichton-Tunai also scored twice and drew a walk.

Ben Cupani, Valley Catholic

The junior went 3 for 4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, helping the Valiants post an 8-1 win over Astoria in a Cowapa League contest at Jesuit High School.

Jaxon Dietrichs, Knappa

The sophomore went 3 for 4 with a double, two runs and three RBIs, helping lead the Loggers to an 8-5 road win over Neah-Kah-Nie in a Special District 1 contest.

Javi Esparza, McLoughlin

The sophomore, batting in the leadoff spot, went 3 for 5 with a double, two stolen bases, two runs and an RBI, helping the Pioneers post a 13-2 road win against Umatilla in a nonleague contest.

Jackson Fera, Putnam

The sophomore went 3 for 4 with a double, two stolen bases, two runs and two RBIs for the Kingsmen in their 7-3 win over Hillsboro in a Northwest Oregon Conference game at Putnam High School. Fera also picked up the pitching win, giving up three runs while striking out four in five and one-third innings.

Thomas Ferroggiaro, Central Catholic

The senior went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, a walk, two runs and four RBIs, as he helped power the Rams to a 13-1 win over Nelson in a Mt. Hood Conference game at Walker Stadium. Ferroggiaro hit for the cycle, scoring three runs and driving in five, in a 9-0 win over Reynolds. The Santa Clara commit is 8 for 12 with two home runs (one left-handed, one right-handed), three doubles, four stolen bases, seven runs and 11 RBIs in his past three games.

Blaise Heher, Lake Oswego

The senior went 2 for 5 with two doubles, two runs and five RBIs, leading the Lakers to a 13-3 win over Canby in a Three Rivers League game at Canby High School. Heher also picked up the pitching win, giving up three runs on nine hits while striking out seven and walking two.

Cole Hubka, Wilsonville

The senior went 3 for 3 with a double, a triple, two stolen bases and two runs, helping the Wildcats earn a 4-1 victory over West Salem in a nonleague game at West Linn High School.

Jackson Jaha, Clackamas

The senior threw a complete-game shutout, leading the Cavaliers to an 8-0 win over Sandy in a Mt. Hood Conference contest at Sandy High School. Jaha gave up three hits while striking out 13 and walking none. He also had a hit and an RBI.

Taylor Langworthy, Sheldon

The senior belted a home run in the top of the seventh inning, providing the Irish with the winning run in their 4-3 victory over South Eugene in a Southwest Conference game. Langworthy went 3 for 4 with the home run and two RBIs. He also pitched four and two-thirds strong innings, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out six and walking two. Langworthy followed by hitting two home runs, including a grand slam, in a 14-4 win over North Medford.

Gage Lee, Sunset

The senior went 3 for 3 with a stolen base, three runs and three RBIs, helping the Apollos run to a 14-2 win over Southridge in a Metro League game at Southridge High School.

Cody Leming, Stayton

The junior was 4 for 4 with a stolen base, three runs and an RBI, as he helped the Eagles post a 14-4 win at Astoria.

Nate Marshall, West Albany

The senior came through in the clutch to help the Bulldogs notch a 3-1 Mid-Willamette Conference win at Silverton. In a complete-game performance on the mound, Marshall gave up one run on six hits while striking out four and walking one. He hit a two-run double in a three-run fifth inning.

Finbar O’Brien, La Salle Prep

The junior threw a five-inning shutout, allowing three hits while striking out seven and walking none, leading the Falcons to a 10-0 win over St. Helens in a Northwest Oregon Conference game at La Salle Prep. O’Brien also went 2 for 2 with a run and an RBI. He followed by going 3 for 3 with two home runs, four runs and five RBIs in a 12-0 win over the Lions.

Cameron Ordway, Philomath

The senior belted two solo home runs, scoring a total of three runs, helping the Warriors record a 10-1 win over Newport in an Oregon West Conference game at Philomath High School.

Landen Parker, Crescent Valley

The right-hander continues his strong senior season for the Raiders, throwing a complete-game shutout in their 1-0 win over rival Corvallis in a Mid-Willamette Conference game at Corvallis High School. In his seven innings, Parker gave up two hits while striking out 12.

Jack Poirier, Centennial

The junior, a team captain, went 3 for 5 with a double, two runs and five RBIs, helping the Eagles edge Nelson 15-13 in a Mt. Hood Conference game at Nelson High School.

Jackson Price, Hillsboro

The senior, with solid pitching and hitting, helped the Spartans post a 14-0, five-inning win over Putnam in a Northwest Oregon Conference game at Putnam High School. On the mound, Price threw five shutout innings, giving up two hits while striking out four and walking six. At the plate, he went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs.

Ryan Rivers, Lebanon

The junior provided the power for the Warriors in their 3-0 win over Corvallis in a Mid-Willamette Conference game at Lebanon High School. On the mound, Rivers threw a complete-game shutout, giving up just one hit while striking out 13 and walking three. At the plate, he hit a two-run homer in a three-run fourth inning.

Colton Schmokel, Lincoln

The junior belted a three-run homer in the top of the seventh, giving the Cardinals the winning runs and capping an amazing last-inning comeback in a 9-6 win over Grant in a Portland Interscholastic League game. Lincoln trailed 6-0 going to the final frame. Schmokel finished 2 for 4.

Lawson Talamantez, Seaside

The senior, with some strong pitching and hitting, helped the Seagulls edge Astoria 4-2 in a Cowapa League game at Seaside High School. On the mound, Talamantez, in a complete-game performance, gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out seven and walking none. At the plate, he went 2 for 3 with a double and a run.

Austin Waits, Cascade Christian

The senior went 2 for 4 with a three-run third-inning homer and a total of four RBIs, while also picking up the win on the mound, helping lead the Challengers to a 15-2 win over St. Mary’s in a Special District 4 game at the U.S. Cellular Fields in Medford.

Sam Weber, Barlow

The junior went 4 for 4 with a home run, two doubles, four stolen bases, a walk, five runs and four RBIs to help power the Bruins to an 18-7 win over Reynolds in a Mt. Hood Conference game at Barlow High School.

Paul Wilson, Lakeridge

The junior left-hander threw six and two-thirds shutout innings, allowing two hits while striking out 15 and walking two, helping lead the Pacers to a 4-0 win over West Linn in a Three Rivers League showdown at Lakeridge High School.
