Gunner was a four-time varsity letterman in football at Coquille High School. During the 2021 season, Gunner earned 1st Team All-State linebacker and running back and was named the 2021 Offensive Player of the Year. He also broke the OSAA rushing yards record in the state championship game as Gunner rushed for 388 yards. He tied the record for most scored touchdowns in an OSAA championship game with 5 touchdowns. For Coquille, Gunner broke all of the rushing yard records and the all-time scoring record for Coquille High School. In the offseason, Gunner enjoys lifting weights, hunting, fishing, riding dirt bikes and hanging out with his family and friends. After high school, Gunner plans to continue playing football and earn a degree in business to expand his family business.
