Tanner is a 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive lineman from Marist Catholic High School in Eugene. As a junior, Tanner's first year as a lineman, he received 1st team All-State honors for defensive line. As a senior, Tanner helped lead his team to the 4A state championship game. In his senior season, Tanner received All-State honors for both offensive line and defensive line. Tanner will be attending Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana.
