Mia Brahe-Pedersen of Lake Oswego advances to 100 final at world U-20 championships in Colombia

She finished third in her semifinal heat Wednesday afternoon in 11.36 seconds, advancing with the fastest time of all non-automatic qualifiers.

Lake Oswego rising junior Mia Brahe-Pedersen advanced to Wednesday night’s final in the 100 meters at the World U-20 Athletics Championships in Cali, Colombia.

Brahe-Pedersen, the reigning OSAA Class 6A state champion who broke the state record in the event last month, finished third in her semifinal heat Wednesday afternoon in 11.36 seconds, advancing with the fastest time of all non-automatic qualifiers.

The top two finishers in each semifinal heat plus the next two fastest times qualified for the final, to be run at approximately 6:35 p.m. PDT.
