Here are the Oregon high school boys soccer stars of the week for Sept. 26-Oct. 2 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Vladimir Bernal-Lopez, Canby

The senior midfielder, and a team captain, had two assists and a goal during the week for the Cougars in Northwest Oregon Conference matches with Hood River Valley and Hillsboro, helping Canby get a 6-5 win over the Spartans. 

John Bolanos Lopez, Sandy

The senior midfielder, who has 11 goals this season, scored all five goals for the Pioneers in their 5-2 win over Parkrose in a nonleague contest at Sandy High School.

Hudson Brunk, McNary

The senior midfielder, a 4.0 student who is in his second season as a team captain, has 11 goals and six assists in the Celtics’ seven matches this season, all wins. He helped the team roll to victories over Sprague and West Salem.

Everett Christensen, Crescent Valley

The junior forward scored a couple of first-half goals to help power the Raiders to a 2-0 win over South Albany in a Mid-Willamette Conference opener at Crescent Valley.

Cristobal Esquivel, Canby

The senior forward, and a team captain, had three assists and a goal last week for the Cougars, helping the team get a 6-5 win over Hillsboro in a Northwest Oregon Conference contest.

Angel Garcia, Stayton

The junior midfielder scored a goal in the 78th minute, giving the Eagles a 1-0 win over North Marion in an Oregon West Conference match at Stayton High School.

Gerardo Gonzalez Meza, St. Helens

The sophomore winger scored on a free kick in a 2-1 loss to Cowapa League-leading Tillamook and had an assist for the Lions in their 1-0 victory over Astoria, the first varsity win for the program in at least seven years.

Jose Guzman, Woodburn

The junior midfielder had a goal for the Bulldogs in a 3-1 win over Silverton and scored the winning goal, putting his shot from 25 yards into the upper corner of the goal, in a 1-0 victory over West Albany.

Ben Haefs, Estacada

The senior midfielder tallied two goals, getting one in each half, helping lead the Rangers to a 5-0 win over Crook County in a Tri-Valley Conference match at Estacada High School.

Sam Horne, Cascade

The senior forward tallied two goals for the Cougars in their 3-0 win at Sweet Home in an Oregon West Conference contest.

Heath King, Roseburg

The junior forward scored a goal with less than two minutes remaining, giving Roseburg the winning margin in its first victory of the season, a 3-2 outcome against Sheldon in a Southwest Conference match at Sheldon High School.

Chris Kranenburg, St. Mary’s (Medford)

The junior stepped up with a hat trick, scoring three goals for the Crusaders in their 5-2 victory over North Valley in a Special District 5 match at North Valley.

Giovanni Lopez, Woodburn

The junior forward scored two goals for the Bulldogs in their 3-1 win over Silverton, with his second goal coming after he took on a defender one-on-one and shot from the corner of the 18-yard line.

Aidan MacLennan, Summit

The senior had two penalty-kick goals for the Storm in a 3-1 road win over Bend in a key Intermountain Conference contest.

Gunder Miller, Lincoln

The junior midfielder scored two goals for the Cardinals in their 3-1 win over Jesuit in a nonleague match at Jesuit High School.

Willem Notenboom, North Eugene

The junior scored a goal late in the second half to provide the Highlanders with the winning margin in their 2-1 road win over Thurston in a Midwestern League match.

Yahir Ocampo-Navarro, Aloha

The senior defensive midfielder, whom coach Enrique Abad calls “the engine of the team,” helped the Warriors get a 3-0 Metro League win at Beaverton. For the season, Ocampo-Navarro has assisted on about 80 percent of the team’s goals, while scoring three goals himself.

Danny Palomino, Phoenix

The senior scored two goals to help the Pirates rally for a 3-2 victory over Klamath Union in a Skyline Conference match at Klamath Union. Palomino had a hat trick, scoring three goals in a 4-2 win over Hidden Valley.

Emori Pauli, South Umpqua

The junior midfielder/forward tallied four goals to pace the Lancers in their 5-0 home win over Glide in a Special District 4 match.

Nevan Quirke, Crater

The junior midfielder/defender had a goal and an assist for the Comets in their 2-0 win over Marshfield in a nonleague match at Marshfield High School.

Lucas Saylor, Umpqua Valley Christian

The junior tallied four goals to help the Monarchs run to an 8-0 win over Bandon/Pacific in a Special District 4 match at Fir Grove Field in Roseburg.

Eloy Saucedo, South Medford

The junior midfielder came up with a hat trick, scoring three goals for the Panthers in their 4-1 win over Sheldon in a Southwest Conference match at Sheldon High School.

Brayden Shaver, Sutherlin

The sophomore forward scored a second-half goal to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 win over Douglas in a Special District 4 match at Sutherlin.

Christian Silva, Aloha

The junior midfielder scored an impressive goal, nodding in a shot off an assist from Chris Ochoa, helping the Warriors post a 3-0 win over Beaverton in a Metro League contest.

Johann Singh Sanchez, McNary

The senior midfielder, a 4.0 student who is in his second season as a team captain, has four goals and eight assists in the Celtics’ seven matches this season, all wins. He helped the team roll to victories over Sprague and West Salem.

Gabe Valdes, West Linn

The junior scored two goals for the Lions in their 3-0 victory against Cleveland in a nonleague match at West Linn High School. 

Hudson Winfrey, Gladstone

The senior scored the winning goal and had two assists for the Gladiators in their 3-2 victory over Crook County in a Tri-Valley Conference match at Crook County.

Daniel Withers, Umpqua Valley Christian

The junior came through with a hat trick, scoring three goals for the Monarchs in their 5-0 win over Coquille/Myrtle Point in a Special District 4 match in Coquille.

Jose Yanez, Marshfield

The junior forward scored four goals for the Pirates in their 6-2 home victory over Junction City in a Sky Em League contest.
