Oregon City stuns Lakeridge with late comeback, snaps Three Rivers losing streak at 19 games

The Pioneers rallied from 14 points down in the fourth quarter, taking the lead with 1:24 left on Ben Schneider’s touchdown pass to Thomas Borden followed by a two-point conversion on a trick play, to defeat the Pacers (2-5, 0-3 Three Rivers League) at Pioneer Memorial Stadium in Oregon City.
Ansu Sanoe’s second touchdown run pushed the Pacers of Lake Oswego to a 28-14 lead with 10:28 remaining. The Pioneers quickly cut it to 28-21 on a 60-yard connection between Schneider and Jake Lopez with 9:24 to play.
The Pioneers’ decisive possession started with about three minutes left. Borden’s touchdown catch brought them within one point at 28-27. According to the Miles Vance Sports Journal, the Pioneers used a double-reverse pass from Logan Fry to Schneider on the two-point conversion and took a 29-28 lead.
The Pacers’ final possession got into Pioneers territory, but on the final play, the Pioneers (4-3, 1-2) intercepted a pass at the goal line.
The Pioneers logged their first Three Rivers victory since 2018, ending a 19-game league losing streak.
Schneider completed 16 of 25 passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns. Marcus Jordan had 18 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown that helped the Pioneers pull within 21-14 in the third quarter.
Pacers quarterback Ryan Oliver passed for touchdowns to Joey Olsen and Jace Swygard.
