Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oregon High School Team of the Week for Dec. 26-Jan. 1 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

West Linn boys basketball

West Linn (11-0) knocked off a couple of national top-20 teams to claim the Les Schwab Invitational crown. Jackson Shelstad, an Oregon commit, earned tournament Most Valuable Player honors after putting up 30 points in the Lions’ 62-50 win over No. 1 Duncanville, Texas, on Friday. Shelstad scored 38 in an 86-69 semifinal win over Sierra Canyon, Calif., on Thursday. The Lions are the fifth Oregon school to win the prestigious holiday tournament.

Astoria girls basketball

Astoria (9-2) won its Vince Dulcich tournament title with lopsided wins over La Pine, Mark Morris (Wash.) and Valley Catholic. Astoria posted an average winning margin of 35.7 points.

Churchill boys basketball

Churchill (10-0) earned wins over Putnam, South Salem and Thurston to win the Barry Adams Invitational title. The Lancers finished their title run with a 65-62 win over Thurston.

Clackamas girls basketball

Clackamas (5-4) knocked off No. 1-ranked Jesuit 47-29 in a third-place game at the Pacific Office Automation Holiday Classic on Friday. Jazzy Davidson led the Cavaliers with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Eagle Point girls basketball

Eagle Point (10-1) notched a 61-28 win at Hidden Valley on Wednesday, then moved up a class to beat Gresham 59-42 on Friday.

Junction City boys basketball

Junction City recorded wins over Henley, Gladstone and Madras to win the Sisters Holiday Shootout title. Two of the victories came by more than 20 points.

Mountainside girls basketball

Mountainside (8-3) won its bracket at the POA Holiday Classic with wins over Grant, Wells and David Douglas. The Mavericks held opponents to an average of 24.7 points per game.

Newberg wrestling

Newberg won the Northwest Duals with a 49-27 decision over Dallas in the championship bout. The Tigers won 9 of the 14 weight classes in the finale — six of them by pin. Newberg knocked off West Linn 49-21 in the semifinals and beat Bend 61-15 in the quarterfinals. The Tigers went 5-0 through their round-robin duals, compiling a 63-7 record in their weight-class bouts.

Philomath boys basketball

Philomath (9-1) traveled to Alaska and won its first two games at the Clack Cochran Christmas Classic, 73-38 over Barrow and 68-51 over host Ketchikan. The Warriors fell 56-52 in the finale to Dimond, AK.

Putnam girls basketball

Putnam (7-2) moved up a class and notched a 46-34 win at Nelson on Thursday.

Roseburg boys basketball

Roseburg (7-2) knocked off Mountain View 67-63 in the title game of the Les Schwab Holiday Hoopfest in Bend on Friday. Roseburg earlier notched tournament wins over McNary, 75-62, and Liberty, Wash., 79-66.

Sandy boys basketball

Sandy (7-1) notched a 55-53 win over host Century and a 77-70 win over South Eugene in the title game Thursday to claim the Jaguar holiday tournament crown.

Seaside boys basketball

Seaside (8-2) picked up wins over The Dalles, Catlin Gabel and host Newport to win the Coast Classic tournament championship.

South Medford girls basketball

South Medford (10-2) routed Benson 71-28 in a third-place game of the POA Holiday Classic on Friday. Donovyn Hunter finished with 28 points and five steals to lead the Panthers. South Medford won another top-10 clash in decisive fashion, 79-33 over Lakeridge in the first round of the tournament.

Sprague girls basketball

Sprague (8-3) knocked off Kentlake, Wash., and Scottsdale Christian, Ariz., to conclude a trip to the Cactus Jam holiday tournament.

Tualatin girls basketball

Tualatin (9-1) recorded back-to-back wins over Wilsonville and Jefferson to finish the POA Holiday Classic.
