Astoria boys basketball

Astoria (13-7) recorded Cowapa League wins on back-to-back nights — 59-46 at St. Helens on Friday, followed by a 60-55 home win over first-place Seaside on Saturday.

Barlow boys basketball

Barlow (15-4) remained perfect in the Mt. Hood Conference with a 91-72 win over Gresham to sweep the season series against their crosstown rivals. Jalen Atkins led the Bruins with 31 points, while Mason Bierbrauer added 18. Barlow opened the week with a 78-61 home win over David Douglas. 

Canby wrestling

Canby won the 22-team Bill Geister Invitational on Saturday with 284 points, beating runner-up Clackamas by 75. Ethan Ensrud won the 170-pound bracket with three pins and a technical fall, and Jackson Doman won the 182-pound title with four pins. Matthew Young finished second at 126 pounds, and the Cougars won five third-place bouts.

Cascade girls basketball

Cascade (10-6) moved alone to the top of the Oregon West Conference with a 34-23 win over second-place Philomath on Thursday. Maddie Dustin led the way with 12 points, and Olivia Bennett added nine. The Cougars opened the week with a 54-31 win at Newport.

Clackamas girls basketball

Clackamas (15-4) avenged an earlier loss to Washington powerhouse Camas with a 60-50 home win Monday, followed by lopsided Mt. Hood Conference wins over Sandy and Central Catholic. The Cavaliers surrendered only eight points in their win over Central Catholic.

Crook County boys basketball

Crook County stayed perfect in the Tri-Valley Conference with a 72-61 win over Madras on Tuesday, followed by a 70-46 win at second-place The Dalles on Friday.

Forest Grove wrestling

Forest Grove won the Hood River Memorial tournament Saturday with 218 points to beat runner-up Ridgeview by 13. Matix Cooklin won the 138-pound title with two pins, a decision and an injury default in the finale. Owen Rice won at 182 pounds with three pins, getting pushed beyond the first period only once. Hunter Frohnert won at 195 pounds with three pins and a 3-1 decision in the finale, and Carter Bennett won at 220 pounds with four first-period pins.

Henley boys basketball

Henley (11-6) won 41-38 at Klamath Union on Tuesday in a battle for supremacy in the Skyline Conference. The Hornets ended the week with a 55-43 home win over Phoenix.

Hillsboro girls wrestling

Hillsboro won the 6A/5A Special District 1 team title with 224 points. The Spartans qualified six wrestlers for the state championships.

Jesuit girls basketball

Jesuit (16-2) moved to the top of the Metro League with a 43-30 win at Beaverton in a clash of 6A contenders Tuesday. The Crusaders finished the week with a 74-48 win at Sunset on Friday.

La Grande girls wrestling

La Grande scored 254 points in winning the 4A/3A/2A/1A Special District 1 team championship. The Tigers romped to an 88-point victory at the district meet and qualified seven wrestlers to state.

La Salle Prep boys basketball

La Salle Prep (13-6) notched road wins over area foes Putnam 58-50 on Tuesday and Milwaukie 71-52 on Friday to remain tied atop the Northwest Oregon Conference standings.

McKay girls wrestling

McKay racked up 288 points in winning the 6A/5A Special District 2 team championship, qualifying a state-high nine wrestlers to the state tournament.

Newberg wrestling

The Tigers successfully defended their Reser’s Tournament of Champions team title at Liberty High School in Hillsboro. Five wrestlers claimed individual titles for Newberg as the team racked up 190 points, besting runner-up West Linn by 35 points.

Putnam girls basketball

Putnam (14-3) moved to the top of the Northwest Oregon Conference with a 79-72 overtime win over Wilsonville on Friday. Rylee Lemen led the way with 30 points and Rylie Greenleaf scored 22. Putnam started the week with a 48-32 home win over fellow league contender La Salle Prep.

South Medford boys basketball

South Medford (15-5) earned a 60-51 nonleague win over Central Valley-leading West Salem on Wednesday night. The Panthers also picked up Southwest Conference wins over South Eugene 89-74 and Sheldon 61-51.

Springfield girls basketball

Springfield (15-5) took command of the Midwestern League race with a 47-42 win at Crater to complete a season sweep of the second-place Comets.

Sweet Home girls wrestling

Sweet Home qualified five wrestlers to state and put up 168 points in winning the 4A/3A/2A/1A Special District 2 crown.

Thurston girls wrestling

With 201 points, Thurston took home the 6A/5A Special District 3 title. The Colts advanced seven wrestlers to state.

West Linn boys basketball

West Linn (18-1) notched a 60-54 win over Tualatin in a clash of the top two teams in the state Thursday. Jackson Shelstad led the Lions with 29 points, and Adrian Mosley scored 12.
