Astoria girls basketball

Astoria (23-2) finished a perfect run through the Cowapa League with a 50-19 win at Seaside on Tuesday, then earned a convincing 62-30 nonleague win over Sky-Em co-champion Marshfield on Saturday.

Barlow boys basketball

Barlow (22-3) wrapped up a perfect run through the Mt. Hood Conference with a 79-44 win at David Douglas on Saturday after edging Clackamas 78-76 earlier in the week. The Bruins have won 12 in a row and secured the No. 2 seed in the 6A state playoffs.

Beaverton boys basketball

Beaverton (18-7) earned a share of the Metro League title by notching a 63-55 home win over Jesuit on Saturday after pulling off an 81-58 win over Sunset earlier in the week.

Cascade girls basketball

Cascade (14-6) completed a perfect run through the Oregon West Conference with a 58-33 blowout win at second-place Philomath on Monday.

Churchill boys basketball

Churchill (21-3) handed North Eugene its only Midwestern League loss, 90-82 on Tuesday night.

Clackamas girls basketball

Clackamas (21-4) closed out a perfect run through the Mt. Hood Conference with a 75-48 home win over second-place Barlow on Tuesday, followed by a 70-30 win over Sandy on Saturday.

Crescent Valley girls basketball

Crescent Valley (18-6) knocked off first-place Silverton 52-40 on Tuesday, followed by a 53-36 win at West Albany on Friday.

Illinois Valley wrestling

Illinois Valley won the 2A/1A state title — the first state championship in any sport in school history. The Cougars edged perennial powerhouse Culver by 4.5 points. The title came down to a rematch between Culver’s Kelin Abbas and Illinois Valley’s Ryan Griffin in the 152-pound final. A year ago, Abbas won a 4-2 decision over Griffin in the 145 final in Culver, helping the Bulldogs hold off the Cougars in the team title chase. This time, Griffin pulled out a 2-1 victory.

Jesuit girls basketball

Jesuit (23-2) finished a perfect run through the Metro League with a 60-59 home win over Beaverton on Saturday. The Crusaders earned a 67-30 blowout over Westview earlier in the week and take the No. 1 seed to the 6A state playoffs.

La Grande wrestling

La Grande won the 4A state tournament with 299 points, beating runner-up Sweet Home by more than 45 points. Kai Carson won at 126 pounds with three pins and a 6-2 decision in the title bout. Joshua Collins (138) and Brysen Penaloza (145) each won with three pins and a major decision. La Grande got runner-up finishes from Ridge Kehr (152), Wyatt Livingston (182) and Kenai Huff (220).

La Pine wrestling

La Pine put six wrestlers in the finals and nine on the podium in cruising to another 3A state title, besting Burns by 19.5 points. It’s the third consecutive state championship for the Hawks.

La Pine girls wrestling

La Pine edged Sweet Home and Baker/Powder Valley in a down-to-the-wire chase for the 4A/3A/2A/1A girls title. Senior Kira Kerr’s second state title in the 155-pound final provided the clinching points for the Hawks.

Lincoln boys basketball

Lincoln (21-4) wrapped up its PIL championship run with a 74-54 home blowout of Wells on Saturday after beating Benson 90-81 earlier in the week. The Cardinals take the No. 4 seed to the 6A state playoffs.

North Medford girls wrestling

North Medford won the 6A/5A girls championship with 78 points, beating Thurston by 13. Skyler Hall (100) won her bracket with a technical fall, a pin and a 6-5 decision in the title bout, and Estella Gutches (135) finished an undefeated season with three pins, being pushed beyond the first period only once.

Putnam girls basketball

Putnam (18-3) remains atop the Northwest Oregon Conference after recording a 64-58 home win over Canby on Tuesday.

Redmond wrestling

Redmond won the 5A state tournament with 204.5 points, finishing seven points ahead of runner-up Thurston. Ansen Widing won the 126-pound bracket with three pins and a 7-0 shutout in the finale. The Panthers got runner-up finishes from Ryder Lee (113), Billy Jackson (120) and Ashton Fields (285).

Seaside boys basketball

Seaside (19-4) closed the regular season with a 57-47 home win over second-place Astoria on Tuesday.

Sherwood boys basketball

Sherwood (18-6) completed a perfect run through the Pacific Conference with a 67-64 home win over Century in Saturday’s regular-season finale. The Bowmen earned an 86-34 blowout at Glencoe earlier in the week — the 52-point spread being their biggest margin of victory this season.

South Medford boys basketball

South Medford (20-5) put up its largest point total of the season in a 113-70 home win over South Eugene in Friday’s regular-season finale. The Panthers downed rival North Medford 66-55 earlier in the week and finished a perfect run through the Southwest Conference.

South Medford girls basketball

South Medford (23-2) closed the regular season with a 57-18 win over rival North Medford on Tuesday, followed by a 72-18 win at South Eugene on Friday. That marked the fourth time this season the Panthers held their opponent under 20 points.

Summit boys basketball

Summit (18-5) wrapped up the Intermountain Conference crown with a 65-56 win at Bend on Tuesday and finished the regular season with an 87-52 win over Caldera on Friday.

West Linn boys basketball

West Linn (24-1) turned back its biggest league threat Wednesday night with an 89-78 win at Tualatin, followed by a 58-50 win at Oregon City in Saturday’s regular-season finale. The Lions are the No. 1 seed in the 6A playoffs.

West Linn wrestling

West Linn won the 6A state tournament Sunday with 288 points — 26 ahead of runner-up Newberg. The Lions led the tournament with 31 pins and crowned four weight-class champions in Oscar Doces (126), Charles Spinning (145), Henry Dillingham (152) and Justin Rademacher (182).

West Salem boys basketball

West Salem (16-8) knocked off second-place McNary 60-50 on Tuesday night, followed by a 64-59 win at Sprague on Friday.
