Canby baseball

Canby (14-7) notched back-to-back mercy-rule wins over Centennial to start the week and finished with a 5-4 win over Putnam, handing the Kingsmen their only league loss.

Cascade softball

Cascade (12-5) bolstered its playoff hopes with a 16-0 shutout over Newport to open the week, followed by a 10-6 win at Sweet Home on Wednesday and an 11-2 win at Philomath on Thursday.

Catlin Gabel girls track

The Catlin Gabel girls put up 172 points to win Wednesday’s nine-team Westside Christian Invitational. Ella Bulkley won the 200 (27.58), Caroline Mauro won the 400 (1:02.30) and Abby Greenspan won the high hurdles (16.58). In the field, Nadya Poisac-Nguyen led a 1-2 finish in the javelin (80-4), Bulkley went 1-2 in the long jump and Abby Greenspan did the same in the high jump (5-1). DeTia Bailey won the triple jump by an inch at 30-6.5.

Central Catholic girls track

The Central Catholic girls won Friday’s Dean Nice Invitational in Gresham with 72 points, edging league foe David Douglas by 1.5 points. Ella McGillis won the 800 (2:16.96) by .01 hundredths and the 1,500 (4:36.75). In the field, Kyeese Hollands won the shot put (37-3.5), discus (151-4) and javelin (154-5).

Gladstone baseball

Gladstone (18-2) bolstered its position atop the Tri-Valley Conference with wins over fellow contenders Madras, 10-1 on Monday, and The Dalles, 6-3 on Thursday.

Glide boys track

The Glide boys scored 169 points to win Tuesday’s six-team Riddle Invitational. Darien Dybowski won the 800-meter race in a personal-best time of 2:24.2, Noah Eichenbusch won the 1,500 in 4:43.7, and Glide won the 1,600 relay in 4:06.8. In the field, Peter Sheppard was second in the discus, Ty Davis was second in the javelin, and Devin Sandoval was second in the shot put.

Henley softball

Henley (13-3) beat Hidden Valley 8-7 on Wednesday in a battle atop the Skyline Conference.

Jesuit baseball

Jesuit (17-5) finished the week atop the Metro League after taking two of three in a series against second-place Mountainside. The Crusaders took the opening game 1-0 and the series finale 6-3.

Lakeridge baseball

Lakeridge (18-2) remained atop the Three Rivers League after sweeping a three-game series against Tigard, recording two shutouts and outscoring the Tigers by a combined 18-2.

Lincoln baseball

Lincoln (15-6) stayed in contention in the PIL by sweeping a three-game set against Wells. The Cardinals emerged 7-5 in Tuesday’s opener — the closest game of the series.

Mountain View baseball

Mountain View (16-7) finished the week atop the Intermountain Conference by taking two of three in a series against second-place Ridgeview. The Cougars opened the series with a 3-0 shutout and finished it Friday with a wild 14-13 victory.

North Marion baseball

North Marion (15-5) cemented itself in first place in the Oregon West Conference by sweeping a three-game set over second-place Stayton, highlighted by a 3-2 victory in Wednesday’s middle game.

Oregon City softball

Oregon City (19-3) took command of the Three Rivers League with a 10-0 shutout over Tualatin to open the week, followed by a 9-2 win at Lake Oswego on Thursday and ending with a 7-3 win over league runner-up Tigard on Friday.

Philomath girls track

The Philomath girls won a five-team meet Tuesday with 206 points. The Warriors won every race on the track that did not involve hurdles with a different athlete crossing the finish line first each time. In the field, Anneka Steen led a charge in the triple jump (30-10) that saw Philomath fill the top four spots, while Ahnika Tryon led a 1-2-3 sweep in the javelin with a winning throw of 101-3.

Roosevelt softball

Roosevelt (12-7) moved to the top of a tight race in the PIL with three consecutive wins, starting with a 10-9 decision over fellow contender McDaniel. The Roughriders finished with an 8-5 win at Lincoln and a 6-2 win over Franklin.

Scappoose baseball

Scappoose (17-2) earned a 10-6 win at Seaside to open the week and went out of league to beat Pendleton 5-3 on Tuesday and Parkrose 10-5 on Wednesday.

Sheldon boys track

The Sheldon boys won Friday’s Dean Nice Invitational in Gresham with 103 total points. Terek Logan won the high jump (6-0) and the pole vault (14-0), Brodie Riscili won the discus (137-2), and Owen Phillips won the triple jump (44-3.75).

Sherwood baseball

Sherwood (17-3) bolstered its spot atop the Pacific Conference by sweeping a three-game set against fellow contender Glencoe. The Bowmen opened the series with a 2-1 win in the tightest game of the series and finished it Friday with a 7-0 shutout.

Sherwood softball

Sherwood (17-3) remained unbeaten in the Pacific Conference with three consecutive road wins, starting with a 7-0 shutout over Century and followed by a 2-1 win at Liberty on Wednesday and an 8-2 win at Forest Grove on Friday.

South Medford baseball

South Medford (16-6) remained in the chase for the Southwest Conference crown with a 3-0 shutout over Roseburg on Wednesday. The Panthers finished the week by sweeping a doubleheader at South Eugene by a combined score of 11-1.

South Salem baseball

South Salem (17-3), the Central Valley leader, spent the week in nonleague play, picking up an 8-1 win over Franklin on Tuesday, followed by a 2-1 win at Southwest Conference leader North Medford on Wednesday.

West Albany baseball

West Albany (16-5) remained atop the Mid-Willamette Conference with a 9-4 win at South Albany to start the week, followed by two wins, 7-3 and 2-1, over fellow contender Corvallis.
