Here are the candidates for the WaFd Bank Oregon High School Softball Player of the Week for May 15-21 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Ellie Austin, St. Helens

The senior, batting in the leadoff spot, went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, three runs and two RBIs for the Lions in their 14-1 win at Seaside in a Cowapa League game.

Mackenzie Bekofsky, McMinnville

The junior spun a complete-game shutout, scattering five hits while striking out six and walking none in helping the Grizzlies post a 7-0 home win over Sherwood, giving the Bowmen their first Pacific Conference loss of the season. She went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs in a 17-1 win at West Salem.

Aryanna Bellior, Glide

The sophomore shut out Brookings-Harbor twice in a Special District 3 doubleheader, totaling 24 strikeouts in the two games, while giving up three hits and walking three. She also pitched both games in a doubleheader sweep against Douglas, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out nine and walking three.

Sam Blachly, Jesuit

The sophomore shortstop went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, two runs and two RBIs to help the Crusaders edge McNary 8-7 in eight innings in a nonleague game at Jesuit High School.

Audrey Brenden, Kennedy

The freshman catcher went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, three runs and four RBIs for the Trojans in their 11-1 home win over Salem Academy in a Special District 2 game.

Ayla Davies, Burns/Crane

The junior spun a complete-game shutout, allowing four hits while striking out 18 and walking one for the Hilanders in their 5-0 win over Pendleton in a nonleague game in John Day.

Peyton Davis, Centennial

The junior had an impressive all-around performance for the Eagles in their 7-1 win over Milwaukie in a Northwest Oregon Conference game at Centennial High School. At the plate, she went 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs. She also pitched a complete game, allowing one run on five hits while striking out 11 and walking none.

Alexia Diven, North Eugene

The junior outfielder went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, a stolen base, two runs and four RBIs for the Highlanders in their 13-11 victory at Churchill in a Midwestern League tilt.

Paige Doerr, Marist Catholic

The senior stepped up to help the Spartans post a 9-6 home win over Newport in a Class 4A play-in game. She pitched four shutout, no-hit innings in relief, striking out five. She went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, a stolen base, two runs and two RBIs.

Lily Emrich, Cleveland

The senior had a huge day, pitching and hitting, for the Warriors in their 17-2 win over Wells in Portland Interscholastic League play. At the plate, she went 5 for 5 with a double, two stolen bases, four runs and two RBIs. She also threw a complete game, giving up two runs on three hits while striking out 15 and walking none.

Shyanne Fenley, Pleasant Hill

The senior catcher led the Billies to a home doubleheader sweep against Creswell, going 6 for 6 in the two games with a triple, four runs and three RBIs.

Rylee Gaustad, West Linn

The junior shortstop went 5 for 6 with four doubles, four runs and four RBIs to help lead the Lions to a 17-12 win at Silverton in a nonleague contest. For the week, she batted .750 with six doubles, a home run and eight RBIs.

Peyton Geiger, Glide

The sophomore catcher had a huge day at the plate, going 4 for 4 with two home runs, a double, a triple, three runs and five RBIs for the Wildcats in their 11-1 home win over Douglas in a Special District 3 contest.

Daphnie Heckel, Marist Catholic

The freshman went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double and two runs for the Spartans in their 9-6 win over Newport in a Class 4A play-in game at Marist Catholic High School.

Rylie Hedgecock, Dayton

The sophomore first baseman went 4 for 5 with a triple, a run and five RBIs for the Pirates in their 19-12 win over Santiam Christian in a Special District 2 game at Dayton High School.

Kate Kofstad, Silverton

The junior outfielder smacked a two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning for the Foxes in their 2-1 win over Dallas in a Mid-Willamette Conference showdown at Silverton High School.

Sierra Llamas, Southridge

The sophomore went 4 for 6 for the Skyhawks in their final two games of the regular season. She hit a key home run in a 14-4 win over Mountainside in a Metro League finale.

Kasia Lopez, Clackamas

The freshman went 3 for 3 with a triple, a walk, two stolen bases, four runs and two RBIs for the Cavaliers in their 18-8 win over North Salem in a nonleague contest at Clackamas High School.

Ali Martinez, McNary

The junior went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, three runs and three RBIs for the Celtics in their 8-7 eight-inning loss at Jesuit in a nonleague game.

Tyler McNeley, Lakeview

The senior led the Honkers to a doubleheader sweep over Sutherlin in Special District 3 games at Lakeview High School. In the two games, 4-0 and 5-1 wins, McNeley pitched 12 innings, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out 29 and walking none.

Ariana Meraz, Kennedy

The junior was 4 for 4 with three doubles, two runs and three RBIs to help lead the Trojans to a 13-0 win over Salem Academy in a Special District 2 contest.

Zoe Moore, Blanchet Catholic

The junior catcher went 4 for 6 with a double, a stolen base, three runs and seven RBIs to help power the Cavaliers to a 25-8 victory at Western Christian in a Special District 2 game.

Riley O’Mara, Lake Oswego

The senior third baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs to help power the Lakers to a 13-0 victory at Newberg in a nonleague contest.

McKenzee Petersen, Silverton

The sophomore was the winning pitcher for the Foxes in their 2-1 victory over Dallas in a key Mid-Willamette Conference game at Silverton High School, giving up one run and four hits. She’s also having a strong season at the plate, with a .451 batting average, a slugging percentage of .662 and an on-base percentage of .545.

Makena Petrick, Glencoe

The freshman shortstop went 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs for the Crimson Tide in a 6-0 victory over Newberg in a Pacific Conference game at Glencoe High School.

Kelsie Phillips, Churchill

The junior had a huge performance in helping the Lancers notch a doubleheader sweep at South Eugene in Midwestern League play. In the two games, she went 6 for 8 with a grand slam, two doubles, a triple, two stolen bases, five runs and 11 RBIs.

Violet Richardson, South Umpqua

The senior hit two home runs, drove in four runs and pitched three no-hit innings, striking out eight and walking none, to lead the Lancers to a 15-0 home win against Cascade Christian in a Special District 3 tilt.

Candace Sakellar, Gresham

The sophomore catcher went 4 for 5 with two doubles, three runs and three RBIs to help the Gophers run to a 14-4 win over Reynolds in a Mt. Hood Conference contest.

Karen Spadafora, Tigard

The senior catcher went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs to help power the Tigers to a 6-0 win over West Linn in a Three Rivers League game at Tigard High School.

Rowan Thompson, South Salem

The junior turned in another impressive performance for the Saxons, leading them to a 6-1 home win over Sprague in a Central Valley Conference game. She pitched a complete game, allowing one run on three hits while striking out 15 and walking two. She smacked a solo home run in the victory.

Sammantha Wilks, Pendleton

The senior third baseman went 2 for 5 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs for the Buckaroos in their 16-5 win at Grant Union/Prairie City in a nonleague game.
