Here are the candidates for the WaFd Bank Oregon High School Baseball Player of the Week for May 22-28 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers. 

Read through the nominees and cast your vote. We’ll send a free SBLive T-shirt to the winner of the poll! Voting will conclude Sunday at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced Monday.

Ty Alleman, Jesuit

The senior went 4 for 4 with a double and five RBIs for the Crusaders in their 11-1 win over Sprague in a Class 6A state playoff quarterfinal contest at Jesuit High School.

Eric Altmark, Mountainside

The senior leadoff hitter went 2 for 4 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs for the Mavericks in their 8-2 victory over Grants Pass in a Class 6A state playoff first-round game at Mountainside High School.

Tucker Ashbeck, Heppner/Ione

The senior threw a complete-game shutout, allowing two hits while striking out seven and walking one in leading the Mustangs to a 4-0 home win over North Douglas/Elkton in a Class 2A/1A state playoff second-round contest.

Charlie Beyer, Kennedy

The senior catcher hit two home runs, scored three times and drove in four to help power the Trojans to a 16-3 home win over Country Christian/North Clackamas Christian in a Class 2A/1A state playoff second-round game.

Ty Burnham, Sheldon

The freshman first baseman hit a home run, scored twice and drove in two runs for the Irish in an 11-5 win over Central Catholic in a Class 6A state playoff first-round game at Clackamas High School.

Anthony Cepeda, McNary

The senior went 3 for 3 with a triple, a walk, a stolen base and three runs for the Celtics in their 5-4 win over Lincoln in a Class 6A state playoff first-round game at Lake Road Fields.

Evan Corbin, Roseburg

The senior threw a complete-game shutout, allowing five hits while striking out 10 and walking none in a 2-0 home win over Barlow in a Class 6A state playoff second-round contest.

Austin Dietrich, Brookings-Harbor

The junior spun a complete-game shutout, giving up four hits while striking out nine and walking none for the Bruins in their 3-0 home win over Douglas in a Class 3A state playoff second-round game.

Connor Dunlea, Lost River

The junior threw a one-hit shutout, striking out nine and walking four, and had two hits, including a double, and scored a run for the Raiders in their 2-0 win at North Valley in a Class 2A/1A state playoff first-round game.

Hayden Forman, Crook County

The junior outfielder went 3 for 5 with a home run, a double, three runs and three RBIs to help lead the Cowboys to a 13-6 win at Henley in a Class 4A state playoff first-round contest.

Drake Gabel, West Linn

The senior threw a two-hit shutout, striking out nine and walking one for the Lions in their 2-0 victory against Sheldon in a Class 6A state playoff second-round game at West Linn High School. He had a hit and scored a run in the win.

River Hamilton, Barlow

The sophomore recorded a complete-game shutout, allowing three hits while striking out nine and walking two in helping the Bruins shock Lakeridge 1-0 in a Class 6A state playoff first-round game at Lakeridge High School.

Isaac Hertzog, Tigard

The senior shortstop went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double and two RBIs to pace the Tigers in their 4-3 win at Grant in a Class 6A state playoff first-round contest.

Levi Jones, Jesuit

The senior third baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run, two runs and four RBIs to help power the Crusaders to a 14-3 win over Wells in a Class 6A state playoff second-round game at Jesuit High School.

Ethan Kleinschmit, Kennedy

The senior had a huge game for the Trojans in their 12-0 win over Heppner in a Class 2A/1A state playoff quarterfinal game at Kennedy High School. On the mound, he threw a five-inning perfect game, striking out 12 and walking none. At the plate, he went 3 for 3 with two doubles, a triple, two stolen bases, three runs and four RBIs.

Spencer Kowalski, Blanchet Catholic

The senior catcher went 2 for 3 with a home run and six RBIs to help power the Cavaliers to a 21-1 home win over Reedsport in a Class 2A state playoff quarterfinal contest.

Jack Lieuallen, Pendleton

The senior threw six and a third no-hit innings, striking out 15 and walking six for the Buckaroos in their 8-0 home win over Newport in a Class 4A state playoff first-round game. He had two hits, including a double, in the victory.

Nolan McCormack, Tualatin

The junior first baseman went 4 for 4 with a double, a stolen base, a run and three RBIs to help power the Timberwolves to a 12-7 victory over Sunset in a Class 6A state playoff first-round game at Sunset High School.

Carson McNally, Blanchet Catholic

The sophomore recorded a complete-game shutout, giving up one hit while striking out 11 and walking one in leading the way for the Cavaliers in their 3-0 home victory over Grant Union/Prairie City in a Class 2A/1A second-round contest.

Connor Molony, Thurston

The sophomore threw a complete-game shutout, allowing four hits while striking out 10 and walking none in leading the Colts to a 4-0 win over Lebanon in a Class 5A state playoff quarterfinal game at Thurston High School.

Finbar O’Brien, La Salle Prep

The senior threw seven and a third innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out five and walking four, and he had a hit and scored a run in helping the Falcons post a 6-3 eight-inning win over top-seeded Summit in a Class 5A state playoff first-round game at Summit High School.

Maximus Reynolds, Siuslaw

The sophomore second baseman went 2 for 2 with two walks, a double, two stolen bases, four runs and two RBIs for the Vikings in their 16-13 win at North Valley in a Class 3A state playoff first-round game.

Ryan Rivers, Lebanon

The senior pitched six shutout innings, allowing two hits while striking out 11 and walking two for the Warriors in their 2-1 win over Putnam in a Class 5A state playoff first-round contest at Lebanon High School.

Noah Scharer, South Salem

The sophomore leadoff hitter went 3 for 5 with two doubles, a stolen base, three runs and two RBIs to help the Saxons run to a 12-4 win over Glencoe in a Class 6A state playoff first-round game at Willamette University.

Jace Schow, La Grande

The senior had a big game, pitching and hitting, for the Tigers in their 7-0 home win over Madras in a Class 4A state playoff contest. On the mound, he threw a complete-game shutout, allowing four hits while striking out seven and walking none. At the plate, he went 3 for 4 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs.

Colton Siewell, Bandon/Pacific

The junior spun a complete-game shutout, allowing three hits while striking out 13 and walking one in leading the Tigers to a 2-0 home win over Regis in a Class 2A/1A state playoff second-round game.

Hayden Smith, Gladstone

The senior threw a five-inning shutout, allowing one hit while striking out nine and walking three in leading the Gladiators to a 13-0 home win over Seaside in a Class 4A state playoff first-round game. He hit a double, scored twice and drove in two in the victory.

Brandon Stinnett, Sprague

The senior shortstop hit two home runs, including a walk-off solo shot in the seventh inning, and drove in four runs for the Olympians in their 6-5 win over Sherwood in a Class 6A state playoff second-round game at Sprague High School.

Austin Takahashi, Roseburg

The senior spun a three-hit shutout, striking out six and walking none in a 1-0 win over Westview in a Class 6A state playoff first-round game at Legion Field.

Owen Thompson, Cascade Christian

The senior had a huge game for the Challengers in their 13-0 home win over Siuslaw in a Class 3A state playoff second-round game. He pitched three no-hit innings, striking out six and walking one. He went 2 for 3 with a home run.

Nolan Umlandt, Sherwood

The junior right-hander threw six no-hit innings, striking out 14 and walking none in leading the Bowmen to a 4-0 win over Roosevelt in a Class 6A state playoff first-round game at Sherwood High School.

Ryan VandenBrink, West Linn

The junior catcher homered, doubled and drove in four runs to help power the Lions to a 10-0 victory over Century in a Class 6A state playoff first-round contest at West Linn High School.

Justin Walters, Banks

The junior belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning to set the tone in a 10-0 home win over Taft in a Class 3A state playoff second-round game. He drew two walks in the victory.
