The Lava Bears posted five shutouts in their nine regular-season games in 2022 and gave up an average of 6.9 points — the fewest during a 5A regular season since West Albany allowed 6.3 in 2019.
Bend began the OSAA Class 5A playoffs with back-to-back shutouts, running the season total to seven.
